1What a NIGHTMARE  Jul 13, 2011
By Meredith Winer
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! EvVive and Whirlpool are evil. On Nov 12, 2011 I purchased the Whirlpool microwave (model MT4155), based upon rave reviews by Consumer Reports. It arrived without problem, the box from Amazon (and the internal one from Whirlpool) in pristine condition. HOWEVER, despite only ever using the microwave for reheating coffee and boiling water (i.e. steaming vegetables in glass dishes), a crack appeared in the paint on interior back wall of the appliance. By April, the back of the microwave was deformed, with the back side, popped out like a big tumor. July 1st I called Whirlpool to report the problem; a service repair guy came out the next day (from a contracted-with-Whirlpool-company) and said it was a dysfunction that was not repairable, and no fault of mine ("no signs of abuse"); he told me to call Whirlpool in 3 business days to find out what's next. On 7/8, I called Whirlpool again and was told the file was submitted incompletely and I'd need to bring in a new repair person. This time I had to wait five days. On the 12th, the SAME repair person was sent; he was horrified at what had happened (and had a boss from NJ with him) and they called Whirlpool WITH ME to confirm how to file to report to get me the replacement. We were told it would take 24 hrs for the report to be filed in the system. I called Whirlpool AGAIN back the following day, and was told it still wasn't complete! And suddenly a "2nd opinion" from a DIFFERENT repair company is required. No person from Whirlpool had previously mentioned this; in fact, they'd told me the one repair company was the _only_ one who serviced my area! Suddenly, this is not true...?! Then 7/13/11 I spoke with a supervisor at Whirlpool (Sherry, in Tennessee), after dealing with a very unprofessional lady, who told me that the ONLY option is to wait until this second company is available to assess and re-review the damage. I contacted evVive, the seller, about Whirlpool requiring a THIRD service visit, and they said I needed 2 service visits to satisfy warranty requirements (though I already had two visits, and they meant a third). I hadn't heard back from evVive OR Whirlpool since 7/16...until 9/7/11, the day after Amazon agreed to refund me, apologizing for my inconvenience.

Thank GOODNESS Amazon is so great. I forwarded them all the correspondence, explained that it wasn't my fault Whirlpool sent the same service co/person to my house twice, and they agreed.

I encourage you to NOT buy this or any other Whirlpool microwave! At least, not via mail order. Too much time has passed for me to be eligible to return it through normal warranty means, and Whirlpool has procedures to ensure you cannot ever get your money back or a replacement fairly. I will file a complaint through BBB and Consumer Reports, on both Whirlpool and EvVive's handling of this. I NEVER purchase one of their products again. But I will continue to shop with Amazon, b/c they were great.

4Nice machine ..  Dec 11, 2011
By The Preacher "The Preacher"
The MT4155SPQ is an excellent machine I'd recommend anyone needing a new midsize one for your kitchen. Yes, you can get more features in say a Whirlpool Gold or KitchenAid one and of course pay more money for them, but for different things like reheating your leftovers, nuking a cup of joe or even doing a frozen lasagna entree, this is the right machine to have on hand. The power levels are changeable and the sensor cooking feature also speeds up cook time and the large and dishwashable turntable is easily removable.

I like the fact that if I wanted to install it in a 24, 27 or 30 inch cabinet in a wall, there are trim kits available to give it a nice finished look. But I especially like the Jet Start feature that allows you to add time during the cycle if I didn't enter in enough time it up properly (I'm a guy and I can't boil water without having problems). I got this back in August 2008 and have never had a problem with it. I'm buying one for my mom this Christmas.

2Microwave is good light bulb ridiculous  Dec 24, 2011
By Emmett Larsen
I purchased this microwave in November 2011. The unit works fine but the light bulb went out after two months. You may think this is not such a big problem but is because the bulb is a special type (not covered by warranty)and it costs about $25 if you can find one and requires a major dissasembly to replace it.

3Noise MT 4155 microwave  May 24, 2012
By Darryl Pecoraro
I love the look and the operation of this microwave but think twice before you buy this model because of the hight noise level. I would select another brand before I would buy this MT 4155 SPQ Microwave again.

Good Luck, I told you so !!!!!
