Defective Microwave - Whirlpool Gold GT4175SPQ May 19, 2010
By Sea Shell Per a Consumer Reports recommendation, I bought this model just over 6 months ago in the fall of 09. The turntable stopped working before December. Two repair calls later the motor and arm had been replaced (under warranty) and it worked again. That is until now when the same problem happened again. This time I noticed that the arm has black marks where it broke from the motor. Could this have caught on fire? I hope this is not a common problem but as I've used reviews on Amazon myself before purchasing, I thought I'd share my experience with this Microwave (Whirlpool Gold GT4175SPQ).

Replacement of Whirlpool Microwave purchased in 1999 using Amazon web site Oct 21, 2011
By bob2222 I was able to replace with the Newest version of the Westinghouse microwave oven purchased in 1999. The old microwave had begun to rust on the inside top of the door. The research for the dimensions, wattage etc., for the replacement and payment was through Amazon. The shipment was received, well packed, and worked perfectly. After two weeks of use the rotating Glass Plate inside the microwave cracked into two pieces. Calling Westinghouse Customer Service as suggested by Amazon Customer Service was very positive. Westinghouse provided a new glass plate and we are very satisfied with the excellent timely support and service provided by both Amazon and Westingouse
