5I love this pot!  Feb 25, 2008
By Liz@Mission Creep
I was put off by the negative comments regarding the cast iron dutch oven I intended to buy and decided to get this instead. What a stroke of luck! It's a great pot, it has a good heavy bottom and the glass lid allows you to see what's going on inside, but best of all the little vent holes which are desgned to allow you to drain/strain your finished product can also be positioned to allow a small amount of steam to escape while cooking. This feature means no more partially covered pots on a slow simmer with the condensation dripping back onto the cook top or down the sides of the pot..it's a small thing, who knew it'd prove to be so useful?!

5love this pot  Oct 20, 2009

The thick steel bottom spreads the heat very evenly, the glass lid is pretty as well as providing a clear view, the handles work well in the oven or on the stovetop, and the spouts let you pour out liquid neatly through the drain holes which come in two sizes for optimum straining of contents. Can't praise these stainless pots highly enough. I love having the whole set without the toxic no-stick lining so prevalent in other lines of pots & pans. And they look pretty enough to hang on my pot rack. In fact I noticed them used in an advertising photo for a high-end pot rack this summer, which surprised me because of the very affordable prices on this line of pots. A good deal, and good for a lot of good cooking. Mine haven't shown any signs of pitting after four years of use on five pots....I liked the little saucepan so much that I soon purchased a second one along with the large saucepan and this dutch oven. The manufacturer has changed the shape of the handle on the lid, slightly, in the last few years, so mine don't all match perfectly, but I still love them for their looks and their high functionality.

55QT SS Covered Dutch Oven  Jan 31, 2010
By Lloyd E. Donaldson Jr.
We used the dutch oven once, didn't have any problems with it.I notice in 1 of the reviews, one noticed discoloration after using it. I didn't see this.It should be noted that when stainless steel does discolor.I use S.O.S pad on the inside , and a stainless steel cleaner/polish on the outside. This works great.

4pan OK, beware of label  Dec 14, 2011
By noName
This pan looked like exactly what I had in mind for my friend. We haven't yet had a chance to cook in it, which I think will be OK for the price. However, biggest complaint is the label on the pan: whoever designed it as far as adhesive should have been FIRED from their job. I spent whole evening scrubbing it off, still not finished. The label is quite large and the sticky stuff does not come off with any trick I tried from google, feeling very frustrated .... I do like the pan but horrendous job on the label, just plain horrendous...

5Excellent Value, Superb Quality  Sep 28, 2009
By PMcD "PMcD"
I own several pieces of the WearEver Cook & Strain pots. This one arrived on time and undamaged and was exactly as advertised.

This line of cookware is incredibly reasonably priced, given the high quality. The stainless steel cooks most evenly and cleans up beautifully. I've had absolutely no problem with any "pitting" as mentioned in the other reviews.

These pots have solid, level, heavy bottoms that distribute the heat most evenly. The holes in the lids can be positioned to allow steam to escape, thus vastly reducing boil-overs (which I much appreciate with my smooth-top range).

The cooking surface is generously sized in each pot in the line. I've had no problems putting mine in the dishwasher--comes out looking brand-new each time.

Absolutely love this cookwear!! Only criticism---wish I could find a 12" covered skillet, a 2-qt. saucepan, an 8-qt half-stock pot, and a 12" covered fry pan in this line!! Great products!
