Low power is to be expected at 12 Volts May 08, 2003
It does an average job with crushing ice to make frozen drinks. It can't be compared to a 125 volt AC blender however. You get a few small chunks of ice in the drink.I had to buy a manual ice crusher to crush the ice first then you get the consistency most people like .This is as good as it gets for outdoor drink making unlees you go to the gas powered blenders.(That's next )

12 bolt blender works! Dec 03, 2010
By pug Purchased this to use on my sailboat for drinks. It works pretty good but won't make slushies, rather it makes small chipped ice which is ok too! I later put in a 1000 watt inverter in the boat and could have used a regular blender which slush the ice a little better and are less money.

Not a strong blender Jul 24, 2011
By Linda I purchased this blender to use on a boat. We tried to make milk shakes with ice cream, and the blender barely had enough power to slightly stir the ice cream. It was completely unable to blend the ice for blended drinks at all. I do not recommend this brand, and I am back to square one to try to find one that will do the job.

Its a beaty! Mar 25, 2011
By Tracy1311 I purchased the Waring 12 volt Blender to use in our caravan. Having unsuccessfully searched everywhere in Australia for a 12 volt blender I decided to order the Waring Blender through Amazon. When it arrived we were immediately impressed with the quality of the unit. I was a bit nervous about buying something sight unseen, more so because my husband normally researches and purchases these sorts of items. If it was no good I'd be in trouble. No problems though he was impressed too. Using the machine for the first time we were amazed at how quietly the blender runs. The plastic jug is solid and has a brilliant lid which really does give a spill proof seal. I haven't tried breaking up ice in it yet but feel confident it will do all the jobs I need it to do. There's only one minor concern. The 12 volt plug is very tight in the sockets in our caravan. We can plug it in and I'm hoping it will get easier with use. It fits fine in the car socket. All it all I couldn't be more impressed and would highly recommend the Waring TG5 Tailgater Blender.

By Harlen We used this 12V blender on our family boat camping trip to make smoothies. Lots of power. I recommend.
