5Versatile & Everyday Use  Feb 01, 2010
By Conky Joe
This is my first small blender, and very pleased with the easy to clean drinking/mixing container and low noise level. I own a large blender and recently gave away an expensive juicer after deciding that the Tribest Single Serving Blender is far more practical for my type use. First, the small footprint for this blender is a big plus as it resides on the kitchen countertop ready for instant use. Clean-up relative to the juicer and large blender is a huge time saver, and makes this device extremely versatile and easy for everyday use. It seems well made and durable. A small distraction is that frozen fruit or ice sometimes gets lumped and requires unscrewing the lid and stirring with a spatula (shaking sometimes alleviates this minor problem). Another minor inconvenience is the polycarbonate containers and blade assembly are not dishwasher safe, and must be hand-washed. Overall, however, this is a fantastic kitchen appliance.

Tribest's marketing of it's single serving blenders is a bit confusing. The base motor is the same regardless of which series you decide to purchase (i.e., 200 watt; 1/4 hp), and your decision comes down to accessories you want. The following breakdown may help you:

* PB-100 (2 blender containers & 1 four-prong blender blade; $50 price range)
* PB-200 (same as PB-100 PLUS 2 grinder containers & 1 two-prong grinder blade; $60 price range)
* PB-300 (1/ea. blender & grinder containers instead of 2/ea. w/ PB-200 PLUS 4 glass mason jars & mason jar attachment; $70 price range)
* For more precise details of included accessories, see the following reference sources:[...]

Depending on their marketing channels, the three main series (i.e., PB-100, 200, or 300) may be sold by distributors by another number so carefully check what is included. The bottom line is to purchase the accessories pieces that you think you might use as it will be considerably more costly to buy these separately in the future, especially if having to pay for shipping. For that reason, the $10 price difference between the PB-200 & PB-300 series made it seem sensible for me to buy the Tribest® PB-350 Mason Jar Personal Blender & Grinder as featured here. While I've only used several of the accessories so far, the others are expected to be used as I further explore more possibilities for this time saving blender.

While wondering whether this kitchen gadget would be put to good use, it has far exceeded my expectations. I won't be without one of these small blenders going forward!!

2Nice Idea but Overall Poorly Designed  Mar 01, 2010
By B. Fischer
I liked the size of this personal blender and the blade is of high quality and design. It functions quite well blending frozen fruit completely. There are a couple of negatives though. The tiny little plastic finger on the ball jar attachment broke before I even got to use it. This "finger" feature is about 2mm wide by about 2mm thick and protrudes about 4mm. The purpose is to fit in a slot and turn the unit on. I didn't set the jar in just right and this "finger" snapped off. Even though I didn't get to try out the ball jars, I didn't like the idea of attaching 2 collers to the jar. Either the ball jar was an afterthought or they wanted to have a "sell-up" model. I should have simply bought a full size Osterizer for $40 since it and most every other blender directly receive ball jars though most are unaware.

5Quality and Consistency - A wonderful personal blender  Nov 03, 2008
By Scott Anderson "Sharpsburg"
Move over Magic Bullet there is a new personal blender in town. It dices, chops, blends, purees, stirs, mixes, grinds and makes some of the best smoothies without the fear of burning out the blender motor. With the Magic Bullet you get a High Torque Power Base, but with the TriBest Personal Blender you get a powerful 200 watt ice crushing, coffee grinding, smoothie mixing machine.

The nice feature that certainly sets this blender above the competition is it's ability to use glass mason jars as the blending, serving, and storage containers. "It is compatible with most* regular-mouth mason jars, making the possibilities for upgrading limitless." Imagine processing your own mayonnaise right in the container it's stored in or preparing fresh strawberry freezer jelly right in the container that goes into the freezer. It's that simple. Just add the ingredients into your mason jar, screw on the rubber gasket with blender, flip, turn & press. In minutes you have jelly!

It also works well with frozen fruit to make the ultimate smoothie and it helps eliminate the need to go to the grocery store to purchase expensive jars of baby food. Save time, money and gas and simply prepare fresh wholesome baby food on your time in the comfort of your own home. The TriBest Personal Blender is one stop piece of equipment that offers a wide variety of options, and helps bring fun back into the kitchen without any additional mess and cleanup.

3fits in a suitcase  Feb 05, 2010
By brook
I have traveled with an antique Vitamix and wanted to slash some weight from my luggage. This blender isn't a Vitamix but it does grind flax seeds very well. I found the glass jars to be poor shapes for bringing the solids back down to the blade. The Tritan co-polyester jars do a better job but still leave some large chunks of apple or ice after three 30 second "whirls". I was happy with the way the blender fit in my suitcase and also the way it made great salad dressing directly in the jar I would use to store the dressing. I will probably go back to traveling with my Vitamix machine but the Tribest will get used at home for salad dressing and small amounts of sauces.

5Best personal blender out there  May 26, 2009
By Julia
Ok, so to be honest I haven't owned any others, but after reading reviews several years ago I bought the Tribest and it has been awesome. The first one I bought lasted me about 5 years and a lot of abuse. It finally burnt out on me so I replaced it with the Mason Jar version. Still just as great. Love that it comes with the mason jars in various sizes as well as the usual cups.
