Powerful citrus juicer Nov 03, 2006
By Lynne Spichiger This juicer is great for citrus - lemons, limes, oranges. Easy to use and easy to clean. Most important....when you press down on the fruit, the motor keeps going and you get every last drop of juice. The motor does not stop as you add pressure, like many juicers. This one is powerful enough to do a great job!

Not if you like pulp. Dec 31, 2010
By DAVID KAYE The Citristar juicer does its basic job okay - a powerful motor turns the reamer and it juices the fruit quickly and thoroughly - not quietly, but less noisily than many other juicers. The stainless steel screen is designed to filter out pulp and deliver a pulp-free juice, but enough pulp comes through into the bowl so that the spout valve clogs and the juice stops flowing into your glass. The juice collects in the bowl, which itself doesn't have a pouring spout, so it's difficult to pour the collected juice into your glass. We like some pulp in our juice, but there's no adjustment on this juicer to allow for this. I modified the screen, probably invalidating any warranty, so we get some pulp, but it's still awkward to deal with because the bowl doesn't have a pour spout.
The box says "dishwasher safe" but the manual says "hand wash" - I believe the manual. Lots of parts to wash: 2 nesting reamers (large for oranges and small for lemons), the screen, the screen hub, the bowl, which includes a spout valve that opens for cleaning.
Still waiting for the perfect juicer for our preferences.

Flaw in the design Jan 27, 2011
By Michael McDermott I've had two of these juicers. They do a much better job at extracting juice than others I've had. But there is a flaw in the design. The "weak link" in the product is the spout. The spout has a spring clip that allows you to close the opening when, say, changing glasses. However, after being used daily for a month or so, the spout begins to pop off the very small and weak plastic hinge pins in the spout and the receiver for the pegs in the bottom of the juice collector. Then, the spring clip weakens as well and all to soon you find yourself trying to put the spout, which begins to fall out each time it's used, back in place when it was designed not to be removed at all. Finally the spout will no longer stay in place and can no longer be reattached. At that point, although the rest of the juicer is fine, you have to throw the whole thing away because of the badly designed 5 cent part.

Amazing Dec 29, 2007
By Ariana I bought this item for my mom for Christmas. It was shipped quickly to my house. This juicer is powerful, so when you apply more force it doesn't stop. It's an amazing juicer. I highly recomend it.

Broken Jan 29, 2010
By Jacques I bought this juicer six months ago. Only complaint, it's heavy going from storage shelf to counter. Otherwise, performance is fantastic, makes it an easy job to juice four oranges in the morning and easy to clean.
Recently it started to act up, it would start and stop when juicing. It appeared that the start contact pressing down on the orange would go on and off. Then it started to run continuously when connected to the electrical outlet, better than start and stop. Now it is dead and no longer juicing. Contacted Amazon, was told to e-mail the supplier Alive and Aware regarding my problems, no response.
It's crazy, but this juicer is so good when it works I plan to replace it with a new one.
