Description:

True to the positive eating, positive living ethos of wagamama's idiosyncratic chain of noodle restaurants, this official collection of recipes shares the secret of the hallmark culinary minimalism that has won it instant cult status worldwide. There are over 65 wagamama branches worldwide and the first U.S. branch opens in Boston in April. The distinctive wagamama flavor originates from the traditional ramen (noodle) stalls of Japan, which guarantee nourishment with ingredients that cleanse and nurture the mind and body. Suitable for meat-eaters, seafood lovers and vegetarians alike, the noodle and rice recipes have been specially created by the people behind Wagamama's unique house style and concentrate on cooking fresh, quality ingredients in a way that retains maximum flavor and nutrition. With a helpful DVD showing how to create dishes as well as tips and techniques, cooking wagamama style has never been so easy.

5Translated for Americans!  May 26, 2008
By M. Sher
While Wagamama restaraunts are mostly known to those who have been to London, this cookbook is made for an American audience. They include cup and spoon measures, say shrimp instead of prawns, cillantro not corriander, snow peas not mange tout. However, the DVD that comes with it is of minimal use if you have any experience with stir-fry and they use British words. A great book for anyone wanting some slightly westernized Asian dishes, as well as those anglophiles longing for London. (Note: Not all the menu dishes are included. My favorite, chicken katsu curry is not in the book).

5Whoa Wagamama!  Dec 22, 2007
By Mr. D
Wagamama is a Japanese-like restaurant I frequented while living in London. After going through withdrawals when I returned to California, I came across this cookbook. It is so good that you would not believe my review if I really, honestly wrote of how much I enjoy their food. The noodle dishes are best! For those of you who have not tried the food at Wagamama, think of simple and fresh ingredients tossed together in non-traditional ways. The recipes in this book are pretty easy and my limited skills in the kitchen are enough to make great meals.

3A little disappointed  Jan 24, 2010
By Adrienne Dinnall "Professional Widow"
I bought this book mostly for the yasai chili men recipe and other vegetarian dishes and I was a bit disappointed when I tried making them. The yasai chili men in particular didn't come out anything like how it is when I order it in the restaurant, the sauce wasn't anywhere near thick enough and was just way too watery. I felt like a couple of the other vegetable dishes I made were a bit bland. Lastly the ingredients frequently call for things like "store-bought chili sauce" and other store bought sauces which I didn't really like because (unlike soy sauce or hoi sin sauce) not all chili sauces are the same and when buying them at the store I wasn't sure which would be the best one for the recipes. If they had specified what brand to buy I think that would've been a little more helpful. I'll probably try making yasai chili men again at some point, and hopefully it will come out better then but for now I can only give this 3 stars

4Love it! But why is the chicken katsu curry dish not in the book?  Jan 10, 2012
By Kari Ann Walker "KAW"
I'm knocking down one star because my favorite dish isn't in the book. Thank you so much for making this book available. I love the dishes and I'm going to love learning/cooking for myself all the way out here in Texas. Thousands of miles away from a Wagamama, now I can have all my second favorite dishes here at home. Best Christmas Present of 2011.

5Extraordinary Food  Jul 30, 2011
By Parker
I've gone to several of these Wagamama restaurants, and they were awesome. Hence, I purchased this book. The book is hard cover, and it reads well. It has nice looking pictures that makes me salivate.
