Bound for College, Useful Book Jan 09, 2007
By M. Tejeda
"Darshan"
I bought this book for my daughter, a senior in High School. She used it to confirm that her skill set really is appropriate for the major, Business, she is interested in. It's a useful book and we recommend it.

Awful... Sounded good, but skip this one Mar 30, 2012
By JAB110 The idea of taking a bunch of varied tests, on things like personality, skills, interests, values etc, and see what majors come out of such a blend seemed a good one. I have 2 sons starting college so i bought this and the 3 of us started doing the test... You start out just following a list of majors and rating your interest. Ok, that's fine. Then you look at your "values" which is ok too. And somewhere in there you do the Meyers-Briggs and Holland personality tests, which is ok, but you really get those off the internet, not the book. Regardless, from there on, most of the Q&A is garbage...
These tests are supposed to ask you about "other" things than school, and use that info to come back to a major that relates... kind of sneak up on you, right? But no, the INTERESTS test says - "When thinking about college majors, I'm interested in Accounting", rate how you agree... What? and then the PERSONALITY test says "My personality type is like an Accountant", rate how much you agree. Double What? This is ridiculous. Not only is it a stupid way to assess such a thing (and a rip-off), but how many college kids even know an Accountant? We actually started laughing as the questions became more and more transparent and silly. As i said in the title - skip this one.

A great gift for any high school student or college freshman Mar 31, 2008
By Snowgator My daughter and stepdaughter both loved this book. Easy to read, fun tests to help them discover which college majors might be of interest.

no help Jun 19, 2007
By R. Collier I will be a freshman in college in the fall and I always thought my major would be pre-med. I recently decided that going to school for like ten years wasn't for me. So, I decided to buy this book as a career assessment so that I could explore the possibilities and decide what I wanted to do. Well this book was no help. I do not reccommend anyone buy this.
