Description:

Update your kitchen with the 1200 Watt T-Fal Avante Deluxe 4 Slice High-Speed Toaster, attractively designed with a black body and brushed stainless steel front and cool touch exterior. Four extra-wide self-adjusting toasting slots accommodate extra-thick bread slices, bagels and more. This toaster has a high-speed heating mechanism which toasts foods in less time than standard toasters. It also has lighted reheat and bagel functions and 7 browning levels. True to its name, the Avante High-Speed Toaster starts toasting almost immediately after pressing the lever. The angled front panel provides easy access to the toasting slots. There is also a separate "Hi-lift" lever which lets you grab smaller pieces of bread or pastry items without burning your fingers. If you notice your toast is done early, there is even a cancel button that lets you stop the toasting process at once.

  • 1800-watt 4-slice toaster with high-speed heating mechanism

5Its big, fast, stylish and makes great toast.  Mar 07, 2007
By S. Bunker
Ok, it makes really fine toast. And it's quick.

Its also nice looking ... esp. if you have stainless appliances or some stainless handles in your kitchen already. The slanted design really makes this toaster an original. The slanted design seems to make putting toast in and taking it out easier, esp. for kids. Even the buttons are stylish ... and I like how the outer toasting levers align with the inner levers. There are controls on either side and both sides can easily handle a bagel with ease.

There is a good feature to note. The middle push levers ... one for each side. These inner levers are stylish, but have a meaningful purpose, which is to push the toast UP and OUT of the toaster (if needed, if you want to, you don't need to) ... I've never seen a toaster that could do that before! That really is a nice safety / convienience feature ... esp. with smaller bread ... it pushes it up for enough that you don't reach into the toaster at all to retrieve the toast.

It's a big boy ... fairly wide for a toaster ... but worth it because of the quality and speed of the toasting ... and style/originality of the unit.

If I were to try and be more critical, I would say the size could be an issue for those with small kitchens or limited countertop space ... and the slanted design of the unit can on rare occasion launch some lighter toast out of the unit.

But overall, I must give this 5 stars because it does toast and bagels extremely well (no burns yet) and its stylish and original. I would warn that it toasts on a very low setting, so start out with 2 or 3 ... because its fast and powerful ... a higher setting could burn, I would think.

5What a toaster!  May 23, 2007
By R. G. May "Bibliophile"
I am not the type to gush about household appliances, especially a toaster. After all, the mandate in toaster production is quite simple, manufacture a machine that makes toast. Well, this initial naivete has been long since dispelled after the purchase of over a dozen toasters, none of which did the thing they are supposed to do - make toast.

All of that changed with the purchase of this toaster. What a well engineered piece of equipment that does perfectly what it is supposed to do - make toast. Don't look any further, if you're looking for a machine that does its job well, this is it.

1Really wanted the 5-star one  Jul 23, 2007
By alsok2 "K. McEvers"
I had done so much research on toasters that my husband started making fun of me. Based on the stellar reviews, I was happy to finally settle on the T-Fal, but unfortunately I had the same experience as S. Sherman and Pat "Pretty Old Dolly" - uneven toasting, one-sided toasting, where's the high speed?, etc. I really think it's just a luck of the draw with the individual toaster you receive and so I am in the process of receiving a replacement. Also I DO believe in second chances with some things, so am hoping for better results the next time. UPDATE: No such luck -- same problems with the second toaster (see my photos on this product's main page). The left side of toaster was not too bad; however, as you can see from the photos, there is a definite malfunction here with the right side of the toaster (bottom row of toast). Who wants to be flipping bread all morning in a busy household of five? Not me! Also, while the bread was "down," I stepped away and when the toast popped up, one of the pieces literally FLEW out of the toaster and plopped onto the floor. One disadvantage I guess of those angled slots. Too bad I don't have a dog (or a so-clean-you-can-eat-off-of-it-floor), right? So, it's another return and I'm off to Walmart for a GE 4-slicer recommended to me by my BFF, Susan. I even tried it out at her house. Thanks, Susan.

2Floor Toast  Sep 20, 2009
By S. Dalrymple "SLD, Jr."
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1KVCEC4ZVR88V I know it's funny the first time you find your toast on the floor. This only happens in the left slot, as far as I have noticed. Will keep you posted.

5Avante Deluxe 4 Slice Toaster  Jan 03, 2007
By Cheryl A. Bulger
This is the nicest toaster that I have purchased to date. I like the style & features. Just a note - it is quite big. You will need ample counter space for this beauty. I keep mine in the corner of my counter & it is working very well for us.
