excellent pot Dec 22, 2009
By Gina M. Sanchez I've never been a fan of stainless steel cookware so I was hesitant to purchase this piece. I must say, I am impressed. This piece has a nice, heavy feel to it, but not so heavy that it couldn't be lifted with one hand. Water boils quickly on medium high heat and the heat distribution is remarkable. I am considering purchasing more pieces to replace my existing cookware.

Awesome Apr 15, 2010

Very excellent pot. Lid has holes that you can use to drain the water if you are making pasta so no colander is needed.

Use it almost every day Mar 03, 2011
By Twentysomething I bought this as an anniversary gift for my husband, because we wanted to get rid of all the teflon stuff in our kitchen. All of our other kitchen cookware is iron, but we needed something for boiling veggies and such. We now use this pot almost every day, and love it. I will be buying other sizes from T-Fal because we use it so often and have had no issues with it. I've been using it over a year now.

A Good Pan, But Nothing Exceptional Nov 07, 2011
By ladyfingers This pan was deeply discounted at a local big box store. The description says the bottom is copper, but it is really more of a disc with copper circles (don't expect a full copper bottom). The copper is encapsulated in a stainless steel outer shell, an aluminum interior, and is flat-bottomed. It says the pan can be used on gas, coil or solid electric, ceramic/halogen or induction stoves. I thought the copper bottom would heat food up more quickly, but compared to my other stainless steel pans, it is surprisingly slower. Once the desired heat level is achieved, it retains heat very well, even at low temps, although so do all my other pans. The aluminum interior oxidized very quickly after initial use. It doesn't affect cooking abilities, but looks unsightly. Overall, this is a sturdy pan and does what it is supposed to, but I'm glad I purchased it greatly reduced. I have stainless steel pans that are over thirty years old, look brand new (no oxidation discoloration), come to a boil more quickly and retain heat just as well as this one does.

A joy to use in the kitchen Feb 29, 2012
By Elizabeth Other than the fact that this pot is expensive....it is SOOOOO nice to use. I like every part about it, the lid, the handle and the thick copper filled base. Perfect size too!!!!
