Seems like a good product Oct 30, 2009
By New York chap [...]
1. This one has the handle riveted in 2 spots, rather than 1 spot as in the old model, which makes the handle sturdy, with no loose play at all.
2. Old model had a metal disc in the middle, to help diffuse the heat more evenly. Problem was that after a while, due to heat expansion/contraction, the center disc went up, and the botttom was looking like a little hill. All the oil was flowing out, downslope, towards the perimeter, so one needed to put a lot of oil to cover the bottom. The new model does not have this disc, and it does not have the problem either.
3. Old model was a bit bigger, and heavier, and this is noticeable, but not too bad.
4. The new model has a center red spot that is supposed to brighten up once the oil is hot enough. IT NEVER CHANGES COLOR, NOT EVEN AT THE END OF THE COOKING SESSION. FEATURE DOES NOT WORK. This is the only reason why I docked product 1 star, but it is not a biggie for me.

Highly Recommend!! Jan 02, 2010
By kmbw I was looking for a perfect saute pan and this one is excellent!! Note-follow the directions-only use with low and medium heat--high heat will damage finish quickly ( which is probably how I ruined other ones)

Works great! Love the ease of handling and the way it cooks so well. Cleans up with great ease! Couldn't be happier with this purchase.
great for the money Apr 30, 2011
By maddog Find the bargain in it and you won't be disappointed. For the price it seems to me fairly well made. Unlike another poster the pre-heat indicator worked perfectly. The non-stick surface releases food with no problems. The handle stays cool and is securely riveted to the pan. Cleanup is a snap. It's not the best you can buy but the price is low and the non-stick works and seems durable. For omellettes and eggs it's the bomb. For me they cooked perfectly. And released effortlessly. Not a bad bacon fryer either. Turning bacon with a metal granny fork doesn't seem to impact non-stick coating either. Medium heat or lower seems more than sufficient for either of those tasks with this pan. But for heavier duty cooking applications like sauteeing, frying and braising I haven't used it as I have other hardware for that. For a cheap basic non-stick skillet you don't expect to last 20 years it's respectable. As a side note America's Test Kitchen recommends it as one of the best inexpensive non-stick skillets. Check it out on their website. I purchased it before reading their review and looks like I picked right.

Great pan but no lid Nov 15, 2010
By Jan This pan works great, but it is an odd size and there isn't a lid that fits it. Many recipes call for adding a lid in the cooking process. This pan isn't up to the task so I am now shopping for a simular size pan with a lid.
