Great pot so far! Jan 07, 2008
By DM We bought this to replace an old Calphalon pot which crashed to our floor and bent out of shape. The old pot was wonderful, but quite heavy and you had to hand wash it. This one retains the nonstick feature (an essential when making split pea soup), yet is much lighter. The glass lid has a vent built into it, making overflows much less likely. Lastly, the whole thing can go into the dishwasher if you want, but is easy to wash by hand, too, especially since it is lighter weight than the old pot. You can maneuver it around.
We still have another T-Fal piece that we bought over 20 years ago, and it's still going strong! That's what led us to buy this one.
The one possible negative I could even think of is that it's very tall, making it a little difficult for us folks of shorter stature to ladle out the soup. It is a 12 quart pot, though, so you have to expect the volume to come from somewhere.
Overall, a great pot! And we do a lot of cooking!!!

The lid doesn't quite fit perfectly Sep 14, 2008
By Michelle Lee The overall performance of the stock pot is good, but not great. It has a tall body so it makes the boiling soup harder to spill out and create the mess on the stove top. The non-sticky part inside and out seems very sturdy and lasting, and that makes the cleaning part easy too because the grease and stuff can easily be washed off from the smooth surface. The only compliant I have to this product is that because of the tall body the pot has, the metal cylinder doesn't seem to hold its shape perfectly. The top opening seems to be distorted a little; therefore, the glass lid can't fit there perfectly. I often need to turn the lid slightly to the left and then to the right a couple of times in order to adjust the lid to fit into the pot opening.

What a pot! Nov 24, 2008
By Chloe For those of you who need a big pot for Chili, soups, and the like, this is the pot for you. Tired of sorry overflow type pots? This one is great for the job! I plan on buying another one. Works great for big family spaghetti dinners, and stews too. I highly recommend!!!!!!

Great for soup and sauce Sep 24, 2009

I found this 12 quart stock pot after Googling "Stock Pot." I needed a new one with a flat bottom since I now have a glass top stove and my other one was not cooking well. As soon as I used this one I could see a big difference in the quality of the cooking. I cannot lift those huge Calphalon stock pots and I think this one is a great (and cheaper) alternative.

Works better than a commercial pot Sep 09, 2010
By Chandler We have a commercial 12 quart pot that's made to work great in a commercial restaurant setting. It held up fairly well, although it looked a bit beat up. I actually needed 2 pots for when I'm cooking 2 big pot items such as during entertaining, or when one is in the dishwasher (we cook a lot.)
So, in getting this one, I assumed it would be equal or lesser than my very expensive commercial pot.
Wrong.
I have dishes that typically burn in the other pot...probably partly because of even heat transfer or the fact that it has no non-stick characteristics or a bit of both. For the same recipes, I've had no issues with this pot. No matter how many times I cook a sticky item that normally burns somewhat on the bottom, or how many times I throw this in the dishwasher, nothing sticks and I get even cooking throughout. It is very light and I can scrape the bottom more easily so things don't burn. Plus the glass lid is nice to peek into stews that are simmering without lifting the lid.
No negatives yet...it's working great for our needs.
Also, this isn't teflon for those who avoid teflon due to health concerns.
