Description:

Scanpan Professional features clean, elegant lines for a most unique cookware design. The stainless steel covers and handles are polished in a two-tone matt-and-mirror finish, setting an exciting visual contrast to the all black pan body. Scanpan Professional is made from a core of solid squeeze-cast aluminum, forged into shape with 200 tons of pressure. The optimum thickness of the pan base prevents warping and keeps the pan base perfectly flat, especially important when used with glass top or ceramic ranges. The patented nonstick surface is created by firing a ceramic-titanium particles into the pan and a specially formulated nonstick compound is embedded in the ceramic-titanium surface. A definite must for the kitchen Apr 04, 2009

I love this stockpot! I also have a Le Creuset. However, I find that this pot cooks food at a lower temp, and therefore is very energy efficient! Also love the little holes on the top that let the steam out and thus prevents over boiling! My favourite Stock Pot - between this one and a Le Creuset Enamel Pot, you are set for life! The size is perfect and compliments my larger Le Creuset one. Look forward to purchasing more made in Denmark Scanpan ware. I highly rate this above Calphalon. It also cleans so easily - and don't have to worry about warping when cleaned immediately after use!

Excellent pot! Love to cook Chili in this, and then put it in the oven to keep warm. The little handle mitts are a nice touch. The handle on the lid gets very hot, and a mitt for that would have been nice. I also would much prefer GLASS lids, so I can see what I am doing. In the description you find "Scanpan Professional pans are safe for any burner type, including induction ..." Please take CAUTION with the "induction" word, as these pots do NOT work by themselves with my Duxtop 8100MC induction burner. You would need the Max Burton 6010 8-Inch Induction Interface Disk with Heat-Proof Handle. The pot works great on my gas range. In summary, this has been an excellent, albeit expensive indulgence for my cooking fun. I do have almost as much fun with my Lodge Cast Iron cookpot (Lodge Logic L8DOL3 Pre-Seasoned 5-Quart Dutch Oven with Loop Handles) for $31 which is "kinda" non-stick.....
