Nice pan, nice size Nov 05, 2006
By N. Forehand I have had ScanPan for years and enjoy using it. When I saw this pan, I thought the size was perfect for cooking smaller ammounts. I was correct. It is also dishwasher safe, a real plus.

Best little pan ever! Apr 23, 2008
By J. Gorelick The first time I used this pan, I wondered how I managed all these years without it. It heats evenly, it handles nicely, nothing sticks to it, and it cleans easier than any pan I've ever used. The size is perfect for so many things and especially nice for single-portion cooking. This pan is a good investment.

fabulous Nov 11, 2008
By Betsy W. Dipilato I have used my Scanpans (3) for a year now. They are exceptional and very durable too. I would definitely buy them again and for gifts. I use them every day.

So far, so good. Jan 28, 2011

I've had this pan for about 2 years now. Despite the claims that you can use metal utensils, I don't. I baby this pan like crazy, and wash it gently, always put potholders and dishcloths inside it before nesting any smaller pans in it, etc. I think this may be why I have not had the issues some other customers have had. (Or maybe those issues will come up after further use!)
Anyhow, so far I am very happy with this pan. It's the best pan I've ever had. I use it for almost everything. I want to note that I always use a tiny bit of butter or oil when cooking, which also could be helping the pan to last longer. I don't want to taste pancakes or scrambled eggs cooked with no oil or butter!
The nice thing is that you need VERY LITTLE butter or oil, and it's more for flavor/texture/aesthetics than for non-stickiness. However, for ease of cleanup, if you skip the smidgen of oil or butter it will take you 10 times longer to clean the pan (keeping in mind to scrub gently). With a drop of oil or butter, you almost don't have to wash it, just wipe it out!
I do notice a slight reduction in nonstickiness since I first started using it, but the change is very slight compared to every other non-stick pan I've ever owned.
The first pan I ordered was not packaged well at all and before I even opened the box I could hear the glass lid scraping against the pan. The lid sounded broken. I sent it back without even opening it. The replacement was properly packaged, no issues. (The customer service rep at first did not want to process the return/replace since the order was via amazon, and tried to tell me to go through amazon, but I eventually convinced him to just process the replacement.) The lid fits well and has not caused the rim to chip. Pan is well balanced, on the heavy side, but that's great since I don't like pans that are so light that it's easy to accidentally knock them off the burner or onto the floor.
I am considering getting more Scanpans, but I am also looking into other similar brands after reading about how some Scanpans start to bubble up and the problems with getting a free replacement pan via the warranty. I will post again later if my pan self-destructs, or ages gracefully! :-)

By JoBarr I am thrilled with this saucepan. I have researched safe, nonstick products, and this one fits the bill.
