Love it! Jul 18, 2005
By S. Cochran Ths Scanpan Square Saute pan is a real multi-function piece of cookware. I use this pan to cook almost anything, from steaks or pork chops, bacon and eggs or fried rice. I've even cooked a stir-fry in it when I couldn't be bothered digging out my wok. Casseroles are especially easy, as you can brown off things like onion, garlic or meat on top of the stove, then pop on the lid and put it straight into the oven. Before I bought my Scanpan Roasting pan I even used this as a roaster!
I am a huge fan of Scanpan as you can use metal utensils if you wish (even though I use nylon or silicon ones just to keep the surface looking nice) and knowing that it is guaranteed not to blister or peel is good for peace of mind, unlike Teflon products. The non-stick is not just a coating, so unlike Teflon, if you do manage to scratch it, it's not dangerous and in need of disposal.
I can't recommend this product enough, ease of cleaning is just unreal as nothing stick to it. This product will last you a long time.

Expensive but excellent Dec 28, 2007
By Bruce Jackson This is one great pan! It is non-stick but uses a Titanium ceramic finish instead of Teflon which makes it far more durable. I got this pan because of health concerns with Teflon pans but this pan is so good that it is worth it even if you aren't worried about Teflon. Over time I plan on replacing all my Teflon non-stick pans with Scanpans. Because of its weight this pan takes longer to warm up up than my other pans; this is a little frustrating when I just want to quickly fry an egg for my daughter. Another thing is even though the literature says the pan is dishwasher safe I noticed that every time I wash it in the dishwasher I have problems with food sticking so now I always wash it by hand.
