Scanpan is a delight to use. Jan 09, 2008
By Sarah I am very happy with this product. Scanpan has an exceptionally durable nonstick surface. You can safely use metal utensils without causing any damage. Heat conduction is very even. The glass covers make it easy to see what is going on inside. The texture of the outer surface of the pots is just the same as the inside and is very pleasing: a nice matte finish, slightly rough to the touch, dark charcoal color. The dutch oven (6.5 quart stockpot) and cover are safe in the oven up to 500 degrees, great for finishing stews that you have started on the stovetop. Two things to know before you buy: The manufacturer does not recommend using cooking sprays like Pam, as they apparently do something bad to the nonstick surface. Also, the pots are all quite heavy. I now own 5 Scanpan pieces, and I love them.

Scanpan Jan 14, 2012
By Diana Buhr I like the Scanpan fry pan and 6.5 quart Dutch oven very much. Cooking with them is easy and foods do not stick. I will not use other types of non-stick cooking surfaces because of the risk factors associated with them.

scanpan nonstick cookware Feb 20, 2011

This product will not produce toxic gases if it overheats as teflon may. However, it is important to follow the instructions carefully, especially with regard to cleaning. It is expensive but I love it, because it has no teflon, and no aluminum, and it has no stainless steel, which Adele Davis said should not be cooked in if at all scratched.
You must be careful with scanpan not to let the water boil away and overheat, but even if this happens it will not emit toxic gasses.
You must be careful to clean it the way the instructions say, which is not at all difficult.

ScanPan Non-Stick Cookware Jan 01, 2011
By Kevin Watson I have held back from submitting my review for the Scanpan cookware. This is due to reading other reviews which haven't exactly been favourable... One can certainly say, if they aren't, then for the price they should be the best cookware to ever hit the market. I have taken time to exercise as much use with my set and give it a good going over prior to offering comment. After a month of continual use and to some degree abuse by using implements that won't exactly be kind to the surface of the cookware like metal spatulas and kitchen forks which have scratched the surface. I have been advised prior to purchasing Scanpan by a local retail outlet that this cookware will stand up to abuse that normal non-stick cookware would be ruined with such treatment. I do know that with the current condition of my cookware, if this had been your average non-stick cookware I would have ruined this set and be looking for another one. Gladly, I can say I still get perfect results with the characteristics of non-stick cookware, despite having more scratches than an old 45" record, this doesn't prevent the food from sliding out of the frypan or saucepan with ease. You may ask why I subjected my new cookware to treatment with course utensils... as far as I am concerned, from the moment I read those bad reports on this cookware, I decided to purposely age the cookware by subjecting to over use of utensils which would bring about failure in most non-stick cookware. I do realise time will tell if the surface will last and remain as non-stick as it is today... Although I cannot justify normal retail price for this cookware, I was tired of the cheap cookware that only last till the surface is removed with continual use. My best advise is if you can purchase this cookware at a great discount price like I have... as I am an international buyer and my purchase here is less than half the price of this cookware in my country. If this cookware remains non-stick for 8 - 10 years then I will figure the cookware has worked a good life. But as I have only had this cookware for a short period of time, I can only hope the cookware lives up to expectations. You be the judge...

great product. i have been in restaurants for 20 years and the difference between cooking in a professional kitchen and home has always been a huge disconnect. the scanpan products bridge that gap a little bit with each new pan. expensive, but worth it.
