Great practical book Feb 22, 2008
By Laura Handy cook book without all the fuss of technical info. I use this book just about every day. It has provided me with a clear and understandable guide of the basic foods of what you can and cannot eat and why. There are lots of great and simple recipes, which has surprised me greatly considering how many things that need to be left out of this tough diet.
I knew the foods I was eating were affecting my symptoms of endometriosis, and I knew roughly which foods I could and could not eat from checking the internet, but I was never completely sure. I now have the advice I need with this book and can have a safe but tasty diet. Even my kids like some of the recipes.
And finally, I have to say that the diet does work. I have much less pain with my periods, I don't feel as bloated, I have more energy, and to top it all I am starting to loose the weight I gained while I was on medication for this disease. I feel much better all round and I would recommend this book to other women with endo. What you eat really does make a difference - it took me a long time to find that out.

Nice jumping stone Feb 25, 2009

There are several recipes in this book, all of them sound delicious (mostly)...However the majority of them do not include ingredients readily available, or available in the states for that matter. It is however a good starting point for anyone that is just starting out on the Endo Diet. I suggest you do some looking at recipes and places on the internet before sinking the money into the book. Especially if you are like me and you think you are buying a recipe book to have on hand at all times...

My pain has almost gone Sep 03, 2009
By Georgia I have suffered from severe and very painful endometriosis for nearly 7 years and afer 5 surgeries I was at my wits end and had given up hope of a normal life. I have tried so many different things to help with my symptoms as the pain was so bad I could no longer go out to work and some days not even get out of bed. My doctor could only suggest a hysterectomy which I knew would not solved the problem - the endo is outside my womb, not inside it!! As a last ditch attempt to try anythig I have been following the diet for Endometriosis - AND IT WORKED!. My pain has almost disappeared and I am now looking to go back to work.
The recipes in this book are very tasty, and I have been able to eat some of my favourite recipes by tweeking them a bit so that they fit with the endo diet. There are stacks of ideas here of how to eat so that your symptoms can be reduced. I also feel much more alert, my skin is better and even my energy levels are getting better all the time.
Before buying the book I read that this book has a few inconsistencies in it, but on reading it fully myself then all things seem to be explained. I am very glad I bought it.
** Just follow the diet and get well - I know how all you ladies like me with endo are suffereing, but please try the diet if you have not done so **

Saved me From Pain Jul 31, 2008

I am a stage 1V Endo patient, and wanted to stop by here to simply say that I bought this book a few years ago and it changed my life. I started to implement the dietary changes and the major ones that changed my life were eliminating wheat and lessening sugar. I went from chronic, horrible fatigue and pain to manageable. It wasn't easy, it took me two years to get a grip on my food addictions and I used Chronium supplement to great effect for controlling cravings. I recommend this book to every woman I meet who has Endo and actually I am mentioning it in an article I just wrote which I hope will be published soon.

Tasty ideas and good practical book Jun 25, 2008
By Christine This book has proved very helpful in providing recipes and a safe diet for the endometriosis without having to trawl through loads of dietary information. It has delicious recipes for every day cooking needs and I choose the ones that are quick and simple to fit in with my working life during the week and then try other dishes at the weekend.
After 4 years of endometriosis and suffering with lots of severe pain, I had been trying to follow the endo diet and started to come unstuck. But this book has given me lots of tasty new recipes and meal ideas and I have a clearer idea of what foods to eat and what foods to leave out of my diet.
I have definitely felt the benefits. As soon as I slip back, like eating wheat or red meat, then I really do pay for it later. I feel you need to change your shopping habits to purchase a few of the ingredients, but I have found other sources to do my shopping, like shopping online. I have also enjoyed my trips to my local health food store and have found a few endo safe ready meals as well as the ingredients I need. Also I can now purchase safer toiletries at the same time, and I have found the staff at the shop to be extremely helpful and keen to give advice.
Definitely a book worth having, and one you will use every day.
