5Puglia: A culinary Memoir  Feb 28, 2010
By Italian Student
My family and I had traveled in La Puglia over the Christmas Holiday and found the food wonderful, fresh and well prepared in each town we visited. The service and prices were great! This book does a great job of capturing the recipes, culture and history of the region. I would recommend this to anyone interested in learning more about the south of Italy.

5The real deal  Feb 19, 2009
By Beverly S. Reusser "plain and fancy cook"
This is the real thing -- authentic recipes, fascinating histories, local customs, with annotations for today's cooks. If you grew up eating this food, reading this book will bring back sweet memories and tears to your eyes. The beautiful photos add to the richness of the recipes and the fullness of the series.

5Great Find!  Feb 06, 2009
By E. Sexton "basilides"
I got this book for a Christmas present and was delighted with it. I'm sending it to my friends who like Italian food. Here is a cookbook written by an Italian, with recipes I've never seen before. I really liked the stories about her life growing up in Puglia and the history she gives about her area. Her vegetables recipes are delicious. If you want to know about how Italians really cook, this is a good book to find out.

5All About Puglia!  Mar 16, 2009
By L. O'Neill "Daisy's mom"
This was just what I was looking for to give to my father, whose side of the family is from Puglia. It's packed with cultural history and great photos, as well as simple recipes. My mother loved the fact that so many recipes were vegetable-centered, especially eggplant!

I gave the book to my step-father, who is both a historian and great cook. He loves it. It's visually pleasing and full of recipes that feature lots of vegetables.
