1Panasonic warranty is the worst  Apr 11, 2009
By J. Smart
We bought this microwave, and it worked for 8 months. One day we got a broken sensor message, and the microwave never turned on again. No problem, we thought. It is practically new and is still under warranty. We contacted Panasonic the next week, got approval for the free repair, and took it to their recommended service center. It is now 5 months later, I have spoken to Panasonic at least 10 times, and they have not sent the repair part. Panasonic finally offered to buy us a new microwave, but they have never sent it. When I call customer service, I repeatedly get the run around. I will NEVER buy a Panasonic microwave again. It is the single worst experience I have ever had with a company.

3Viewing Display is a big Problem, otherwise fine  Aug 05, 2008
By Norm
This microwave is otherwise a five-star, but the display drops it to a three-star.

Problems:

1.) The display is polarized, so you can't view it from an angle above 45 degrees. This is not a problem from several feet away, but standing next to the microwave on the counter I need to bend down to see the display.

Until I have the microwave memorized I will always need to bend over to set the microwave. This is not a problem on my old Panasonic.

2.) As noted in other reviews the interior lights only when the microwave is on, not when the door is open.

Good Aspects:

1.) This replaces a 15 year old Panasonic microwave of the same size which was making noise, although still working. This microwave is almost twice as fast, nearly silent, weighs half as much, and is good looking.

2.) After years of using Panasonic moisture sensor cooking I would never buy any other brand until they can replicate this feature.

I would return this microwave except it appears all Panasonic microwaves currently have the same type of display. Hopefully Panasonic fixes this problem in future models.

For $130 I'll use this microwave until Panasonic replaces this horrible display on future models.

Panasonic NN-H965BF Luxury Full-Size 2.2-Cubic-Foot 1,250-Watt Microwave Oven, Black

I own the predecessor to this model, the H964. It's the 2nd Panansonic microwave of this size that we've bought--in just 3 years. The first lasted 1 1/2 years and had to be repaired once. The second died three weeks after the warranty period. After literally 8 calls to Panasonic customer service (asking for the serial number, calling back with it, etc etc.) they agreed to at least cover the cost of a repair estimate (they eventually paid for the entire repair cost).

The problem was that the fuse had died. The authorized repair facilitiy told me that the only microwaves they ever get for repair are Panasonics; he said the problem is that to reduce their weight, they use smaller parts, like the tubes, which can't handle the load for long. He also said that their fuses don't last.

The repair person recommended either Sharp or Sanyo as much longer lasting. I checked the weight of a similar-sized Sharp and saw that it weighed about 6 pounds more than the Panasonic--presumably because some parts are heftier.

When this newly-repaired Panasonic dies again, it will be long out of warranty and then we'll try our luck with a Sharp. Replacing a microwave every 18-20 months is not my idea of money well spent.

4panasonic NN-SN667B microwave  Nov 01, 2007
By S. Frohman
This replaced a similar sized Panasonic microwave oven that had a problem with the door button getting stuck or popping out. So far it seems to work very well. It's quieter than the previous mmodel and a little smaller for outside dimensions while the interior capacuty is the same as the old model. The inverter technology seems to work well for defrosting, much better than previous microwaves I've owned, and the sensor reheat and cook work very well also. My only complaint is that to use the sensor cook you key in a number from 1-9, but nowhere in the instructions does it explain what number corresponds to what type of food you are cooking. There are less expensive microwaves out there with similar features except for the inverter technolgy, but in my opinion it's worth the extra.

5A pleasant surprise.  Feb 11, 2010
By R. L. Frank
First, lets clarify things. Amazon has the dimensions wrong.

They have:

Height: 15-15/16 inches
Length: 20-3/8 inches
Depth: 11-7/8 inches

It should be:

Height: 11-7/8 inches
Length: 20-3/8 inches
Depth: 15-15/16 inches

The LED display is not as horrific as others have made it out to be. I'm over 6 feet in height and the unit is on a cart that is several inches lower than the standard counter top. If I am standing 2 feet back from the unit, I can read it without bending down.

The door latch works perfectly well, although the unit is amazingly light and may tend to slide if you don't have your other hand on it while pushing the latch button. I can understand that folks might prefer a handle, instead, but that would add to the cost ad detract from its appearance.

I had no trouble viewing the contents while cooking and the fact tat the light goes out when the door is open, did not prove to be a problem. I routinely leave the door open for a bit fo the moisture to dissipate, so I consider it a plus.

Food cooked very evenly, as did the defrosting process. The controls were pretty simple to figure out, without having to resort to the manual. The only thing I'd have done differently is put the sticker behind the door that describes the sensor cooking settings, above the cavity, rather than below it. It would make reading it easier.

Since this unit replaced a 24 year old 700 watt Samsung, cooking speed is obviously faster and the unit quieter. By the way, the signal beeps are loud enough for me to hear in a adjoining room with average ambient noise.

I can't comment on the unit's longevity, yet, but for now, I am very happy with this unit.

1Keypad quit after 6 weeks  Jul 24, 2009
By Kapusta
I did LOTS of research to find a small but powerful MW for my new house and this looked like the one. Perfect fit, liked the looks, and worked great for 6 weeks. Amazon service was wonderful, as usual! But I came home one night to find the display showing 88:88 and the keypad nonfunctional. Panasonic customer service walked me through some troubleshooting (which I had already done), and then told me that I would have to take it to the authorized service center...an hour away. Now I will be without my MW for weeks, plus make two trips to the service center to drop-off and pick-up. They would not agree to a replacement. For the price, I am very unhappy with the results, and will not be purchasing another Panasonic product.
