2Works great, until it breaks  Jan 26, 2009
By S. Waldron
We got this as part of the Profile set to match our range/oven. It has some great features, like a push display, and a boost feature to REALLY get some air OUT! Love that. But when I went to push the button for the vent, the whole button panel behind the stainless steel moved back- I broke something. The repair guy just left after telling me I had broken the processor assembly which costs $500+ to replace, and then there's labor. So we're looking at $750 to get a new one? I don't think so. I'll just get a different stainless steel microwave with better reviews!

2BUYER BEWARE  Feb 05, 2009

DONOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE
I had this microwave for 3 years and the control panel went. It costs $500 to repair. Very disappointed

3One more vote for it was good while it lasted...  Nov 05, 2009
By Kristin Hansen
This microwave was great for about 4 years. Then it started to cut out while something was cooking and over time would only cook for a few seconds before giving out. Repair person said the circuit board or processing board is broken and it will cost more to fix it than to buy a new one. He said there's no reason to buy the same model again because the same design flaw still exists. So save your money (and the landfill) and buy something with more staying power!

1Loved it until it died after 3 years  Sep 26, 2008

... doesn't make sense to repair since the control board costs about $500 to replace. We bought it for $550. Won't buy a GE microwave again for that reason. SAD since we really liked this microwave.... until now.

1another control panel failure  Sep 03, 2010
By kaput
Very similar problems to others with control panel-failed after 3 1/2 years, prohibitively $$ to replace.

To their credit, GE DID agree to cover under warranty (minus 125 labor to install), but part was perpetually unavailable/backordered and follow up by customer service was poor. Ultimately, I was without use of microwave for three months!

Premium price for an inferior product with poor service=lost customer for LIFE!
