Great steamer! Mar 28, 2008
By Mary G. Corson I bought two of these tagines--total impulse buy, as we were looking for ways to steam food. They have been an integral part of my kitchen ever since. Spray them with cooking spray, add some fish cut into chunks(we have tried tilapia and salmon thus far), thinly sliced vegetables and spices (I have been experimenting with making my own ras el hanout), put it in the oven at 360, and in 20-25 minutes, dinner is ready!
Comes with a small recipe book that suggests microwave use, but we would rather use the oven. Overall, the tagine makes moist, flavorful low-fat, low calorie meals that don't taste low-fat, low calorie!
Definitely one of my better impulse buys!

Tagine Review Mar 26, 2009
By Mark N. Muenchrath I use my tagine several times per week. It is a great product for easy to prepare meals. I just put some chicken with fruits, veges, and spices in the tagine and cook for an hour. Then I add couscous to the drippings and have a satisfying meal. The only drawback is the lid doesn't seal with the bottom portion, so the juices often overflow in the oven.

Does the job right Jul 29, 2008
By A. Chamish Even though it is not the authentic Moroccan clay Tagine pot it does the job right and makes the right tasting Tagine without a problem... even in our toaster oven. The device may not be useful for the purpose of a show off nor as a conversation piece but it cooks right (if you know how to cook Tagine... or can follow the instructions). This one is small, will hold/cook an American size meal for a couple. If you intend to feed more at the same time, buy a larger size!

Perfect for 2-3 people Jan 25, 2009

This is my second tajine (yes, I am the crown prince of Tajinistan) and I was at first worried about its small size and it being of silicon. I now love both features. It is perfect for filling full of whatever is leftover (noodles are a favorite), mixing with some eggs and cheese and making a breakfast for two.
If you limit tajines to Moroccan-style cooking you're missing how versatile this tool is. Use it anytime you might use a casserole dish, and it'll do better. And it looks cool (the royal palace is modeled after one).

You will not believe this thing.... Sep 02, 2010
By Dj Sidetrack I received this as a gift, I had never seen one before. The pamphlet it came with talked about cooking chicken and lamb and such in the microwave. Sounds like a bad idea unless you like eating warm rubber.
I am a picky cook, I have my ways of doing things. I like easy and fast, but never if it sacrifices flavor or presentation. This silicone tagine thingy opened my f-ing mind when it comes to putting things in the microwave. It is some kind of futuristic dutch oven. I routinely defrost and cook chicken in this little thing-and it comes out awesome. I never thought I would ever cook chicken (or any other meat for that matter) in the microwave. Now I do it all the time. I have amazed my friends by making dinner with five minutes prep time and gourmet results. I am not one to talk up things, but these things are awesome. Try it.
Notes: Goes right in the dishwasher, or oh so easy hand wash. You can makes cakes in the damn thing. (in the oven, haven't tried that in the microwave yet, sounds like a bad idea, but who knows?) Good for one person portion wise. I find i can make a whole meal in it for myself. If cooking for more than one it is too small unless you make side dishes to go along with it.
