snacking ecstacy! Sep 07, 2007

When I was a child, Old London Cheez Waffles came in a cardboard/foil tube. They came in two flavors, Cheddar, and Blue Cheese. The cost was 19 cents. If I had a quarter, I could buy a tube of Cheez Waffles (19 cents) and a Coke (6 cents) - thus achieving nirvana for a mere 25 cents! These days they come in a box, and the price is a bit higher, but they are still the most wonderful non-sweet snack product on the market. The Wise brand Cheez Waffles are the same thing (same company), but the quality control on the Wise version has been awful, so I strongly advise going with the Old London product (both are available on Amazon). I was very pleased to find them here, as my local fresh market has quit carrying them.

Waffle snacks Jun 22, 2008

The first time I ever ate these was as a small boy. It seems like every time they were available in a place where I lived or visited they soon disappeared from the shelves never to be seen again. I was overjoyed whenever I found them again, and not just in the US of A too. I was very happy to find them on Amazon.com and less expensive than another source. I hope "Old London" continues to produce thes and keep them available.

Best savory snack Feb 23, 2008

I agree whole-heartedly with the first reviewer and can't understand why these have all but disappeared from retail shelves. They used to be called Cheese Waffies. They have a real bite to them and admittedly a few of my friends have found them too sharp, but others come over raiding my cupboard to see if a new shipment has arrived. A lot more gusto with drinks than chips or pretzels.

Old London sold the product to Wise Dec 12, 2010
By u52983 Old London Waffle Snacks have been out of stock at Amazon for a while now. A pity, since I've loved these since childhood, when they came in cardboard tubes. (Like Pringles do today.) I found out why. I emailed Old London, and they replied that the product line has been sold to Wise Foods. I found some Wise Cheez Waffies, and they are indeed the same wonderful snacks I remember.
But now Amazon seems to be out of stock on those too. I had to have them!
The Wise Foods web site lists them as a current product, and I found you can order them there, which I have now done, even though ordering from Amazon would have been much easier. Hopefully Amazon will have more Wise Cheez Waffies by the time I finish the ones I just got.

I love them; my wife hates them Jul 22, 2008
By K. Turner I have always loved these since I first tried them as a child. I know many others who love them and several who hate them. I haven't really found someone in between. My wife says the cheese tastes like the powdered Kraft mac & cheese (when powdered). Well, it sort of does but much better. Half the bag tends to be broken and separated, but that's just the way they are - tastes the same either way.
These and Cheez Waffies are hard to find; I'm glad I can order them from Amazon. However, I tend to finish the case way too fast.
