warmer Jan 07, 2008
By Russell Johnson This item was used to keep tortillas hot at buffet dinner for approximately 75 people. The tortillas were heated on a griddle and then stored in this warmer. They stayed warm throughout the serving of the meal (about 40 minutes). The warmer did exactly what it was purchased for.

Great for keeping dinner warm too Aug 27, 2008
By T. Handley This is one kitchen item that doesn't get used that often, but really comes in handy when I need it. I've never made tortillas, but I have used this quite often to keep pancakes, waffles, and french toast warm -- basically anything you cook in batches. It works best to leave the lid a little offset to allow some steam out until you're ready to serve, or the pancakes or whatever on the bottom can get a bit soggy. This will easily keep things warm for an hour or more. My oven has one of those warmer drawers at the bottom, but I always use this container now as it's easier and doesn't waste any natural gas.
This warmer is useful for a lot more than pancakes and tortillas: use it to keep a whole meal warm if someone can't come to dinner right away (though you can't quite fit a full-size) dinner plate inside, for keeping tacos warm (meat and all), for commercial tortillas after microwaving, or for anything else that you need to keep warm for a while. Mine has even doubled in a pinch as a cake carrier for an 8" round layer cake (with strips of foil under the cake to pull it out by). Overall, this is an excellent addition to any kitchen. My only complaint is that it's not that presentable as a serving dish, but it seems to retain heat just as well as ceramic.

I find this to be perfect for keeping bread , tortilla, or pancakes warm while etertaining large groups. I have also used it for cornbread , muffins, and biscuits. Highly recommended!

More versatile than tortillas and pancakes! Jun 05, 2009

"Anybody Listening?"
I'll tell ya, since we picked this thing up from here we've used it for a lot of things on the table. Not only does it keep the tortillas warm (which we bought it for) and the pancakes, but it keeps spaghetti noodles warm and moist, bratwurst, italian sausage and anything that you need to keep moist and warm for serving around the table. The noodles were hot for over 30 minutes. The pancakes stay that way for an hour. :) definitely worth every penny.

EAT MORE PANCAKES Jul 04, 2010
By punkypoptart My first impressions were that the Pancake & Tortilla Keeper is much too big and kind of ugly.
However...
IT WORKS I made pancakes this morning, and it was really convenient to toss them into the Keeper as I flipped flapjacks, instead of firing up the oven to keep the hotcakes hot.
The entire batch was steaming when we sat down to breakfast. And, when we were ready for seconds, the pancakes were still an acceptable butter-melting temperature. At this point, I did have to wipe dry the inside of the lid (not a big deal) -- the rising steam had created a good deal of moisture that was about to start dripping.
By the time my husband was ready for another helping, I just put the Keeper into the microwave for less than a minute to heat up the last of the pancakes.
IT'S HUGE The size (inside measurements: 9" x 3-1/4") no longer bothers me. I can see where it will be a plus when I'm making waffles or bigger batches of pancakes, and for holding dinner rolls or large tortillas.
SAY IT LOUD, I'M PLASTIC AND I'M PROUD I still feel that the Keeper is pretty darn ugly. It's plastic, pretending to be clay. The texture and color suggest to me that it was designed to resemble terra cotta. (It does not.) For this, I deducted one star from my rating.
I say, "Be proud of what you are, Plastic! Go crazy in glossy candy-apple red, eyeball-piercing neon green, or cool matte black."
EAT MORE PANCAKES Thanks to my very convenient Pancake & Tortilla Keeper, I will be making pancakes much more often. And, if someone should decide to manufacture it in a fun color, I will happily buy another one.
