5Great Smoker/grill  Mar 28, 2012
By jerry
I received package in great condition, and assembled in about 25 minutes. It works extremely well. I have smoked chicken and ribs on it and have also grilled ribeyes. Was able to get temp in main box up to 450 without any real effort. This is a very good quality smoker, grill.

5Received damaged, but seems well made (Updated)  Apr 13, 2011
By Charles L. Powers
I received the smoker today and it was damaged in a couple places. The unit appears well made and is much heavier and thicker than the ones found at Walmart or Home Depot. I called Amazon and they ordered me a replacement. It is suppose to arrive a week from today. I really hope this one is not damaged. The price has raised about $100 since I ordered, so I think it is a good value if I can receive it undamaged.

4/19/2011 - Less than a week later, I received the replacement and the damaged one was taken away. The replacement is in very good condition. Only a few minor scratches. The hardware was in a sealed bag unlike the first unit that had loose hardware everywhere. It took me about 2 hours to put together myself. I have seen $150 offset smokers at the big box stores and $1000+ ones from Meadow Creek, Lang, etc. and not much in between. I would say the Medina River 67 is easily $400-$500 better than ones found at Walmart or Home Depot for $150, but I am not sure a $1000 model is $400-$500 better. Hope that makes sense.

5Received in great condition and easy to follow instructions  Jun 21, 2011
By Steven Baker
I received the Madenia River Jumbo Smoker #67 the other day and assembled it in about two and a half hours. Except for the firebox and two of the legs, I assembled it by myself with relative ease. The installation instructions were very easy to follow and very through. The quality of the packaging materials was exceptional. The smoker arrived in terrific condition. I think some of the other reviewers issues with scratches / damages or materials either missing or loose in the shipping container may have been the result of poor handling by the shipping company and not the original manufacturer. Also, the quality of the construction materials used and the construction of the smoker itself seems to be very good. As a structural engineer, I am very impressed with the construction. I look forward to many years of quality use. This smoker / grill is constructed of MUCH MUCH better material than those sold at your local department stores or home improvement centers --- as you would expect for the additional expense. Again, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. BTW, I messed up the thermometer during installation and the Medina River folks sent me a replacement right away with no issues.

5Very impressed so far  Jul 19, 2011
By Mitchell Duncan
I haven't cooked on it yet, but I'm very impressed so far with this grill-smoker combo. The shipping experience was great. I got a call to arrange a delivery time and they were at my door by 9:30 am. The grill was packed very tightly, and included all necessary documentation and materials. All parts and accessories were individually wrapped and located inside the large grill. I read the instructions in 5 minutes and a neighbor and I assembled the grill in about 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend a 2nd person to assist w/ installing the legs and the firebox specifically. When inserting the grills, the only goofy thing is that they don't have a tab or position bar. The directions state that very clearly and the grills fit fine. It's just that with all of the quality that has gone into this grill, I can't believe that a simple grill tab wasn't added. It's not a big deal and as i said, it's clearly mentioned in the documentation.

I'll add further comments once I get around to grilling and smoking on it. Overally though, I love it so far.

4Important Information  Aug 14, 2010
By janet ferguson
The smoker/grill arrived in a bashed up box with scratches on the grill. We figured "no problem" since it would be sitting outside but were also disappointed since it was a gift. Then it came to the assembly of the grill. No directions! Wheels were included and no axel to attach the wheels and no visible spot where wheels would attach. Also no wheel hardware other than the wheel itself. We were disappointed that no cooking information arrived either. I guess the Medina corporation figured anyone ordering a $700+ grill would be brilliant enough to know how to assemble it and cook/smoke on it without important information. The gift was well appreciated though.
