Really nice moderately priced cooker Dec 11, 2005
By PDXBarb I've owned the Manttra 6 Qt stainless cooker for a year and find it reliable, easy to clean and very efficient in doing what pressure cookers should do -- make tender food quickly. I use my mostly to cook beans and other dried foods and it does a great job. I'm buying more for gifts this year.

Mantra Pressure Cooker Jan 11, 2010
By O. Pineda I purchased a Mantra Pressure Cooker. It worked well after a number of uses. Shortly afterwards, the cooking ability of the Mantra started to diminish. The handle would shake and water would leak out from the handle and the circumference of the cooker. After a few more cooking session, the steam/valve stopped working. I finally trashed it. Not sure if I had a defective one?

This product has everything I wanted. I recently converted to induction cooking and needed a stainless steel cooker. This one was inexpensive, attractive, and highly functional. Better than anticipated.

Nice and well made unit Jun 01, 2008

I have used a pressure cooker for over 40 years. I wanted a stainless one and this appeared to be the best choice given the price and reviews. My main complaint is the instruction booklet. If Manttra is going to actively promote their product in the US it looks like an instruction booklet that isn't just a translation would be merited. I've used it three times. Once cooking navy beans from soaked beans I had to go back and cook them a second time. I'm used to a Mirror and it has a top attachment that giggles mightily. this Mcooker just whispers so it will take some getting used to. I still think it's a good cooker and I'll figure it out.

OOPS Feb 20, 2009

MY MANTTRA STAINLESS PRESSURE COOKER DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THESE PICTURES. MINE HAS TWO HANDLES ON THE LID. I HAVE SOME CONCERNS ABOUT IT....(1) THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN IS NOT LEVEL, IT IS RAISED IN THE MIDDLE...SO IT DOES NOT SIT FLAT ON MY STOVE. (2) IT DOES NOT JIGGLE, SO I CAN'T TELL IF I NEED TO RAISE THE HEAT, OR IF IT IS ABOUT TO BLOW UP. I HOPE THESE ARE BETTER THAN MINE. BY THE WAY, I LOVE USING PRESSURE COOKERS - BEEN USING THEM FOR ABOUT 40 YEARS.
