Great BIG Microwave! Jan 10, 2010
By Rahiem G. Tracey We needed to replace our SS Samsung microwave after 6 faithful years. Wanted a big SS micro without too many unnecessary buttons, this fit the bill! Bought at HD for 119.00 + tax which was a better deal(about $7) than the $35.00 shipping charged by Amazon, plus we needed it now. This microwave is large, sturdy, and powerful. If you have children the pull handle in my opinion is better because you do not get little finger smudges. It has all the little things, add/deduct time, popcorn time, and defrost. You will not be disappointed in this microwave.

Disappointed on short life and general operations Jan 23, 2011
By Maria M. Thompson We bought this model on the strength of the Consumer Report rating. I think it is quite over-rated.
It has an 8-year warranty on the magnetron, but the cost of labor and shipping is such a large percentage of a new oven that is is pretty meaningless. After 18 months, the part died in a puff of ill smelling smoke during dinner preparation.
We used the unit on a daily basis for heating water for coffee in the morning, reheating leftovers, and making instant rice, potatoes, etc. So our average time for a use would be in the range of 3 -5 minutes, except when doing defrosts of 1 -2 lbs. 2 - 3 times per week. While it was working it did a good job for basic heating, but was unreliable using the automatic, weight-based defrost settings -- they always went to far and partially cooked the food, especially with chicken.
For reasons I never understood, I frequently had to re-open and close the door to start operations, especially when I wanted to use the "add a minute" feature. This operational "quirk" was quite annoying in the middle of busy meal preps.

Stops working on long jobs Dec 18, 2010
By J. Elliott We bought this microwave because of the price (less than $80) at a local store. It works fine for reheating foods less than 2 minutes. Tried popcorn and it works fine for the first bag, but overheats an internal breaker and shuts off if you try a second bag. Took it back to the store and got a replacement unit. It did the same thing. We like the oven, but doesn't work very well. Guess we have to find another unit we like.

Powerful, but Loud Oct 21, 2011
By Kevin Mccarthy I've had this microwave for almost a month now. It's a good, powerful unit. I haven't had any issues.
However, be warned, it is LOUD. The fan/microwave system is very loud. The beeper when the timer goes off is loud and unlike some other brands, that beeper doesn't stop when you open the door. It keeps going.

Loud and died at 5 months after flipping breaker for a month Feb 26, 2012
By TT This is a good looking microwave that was LOUD when it worked correctly its first four months. It began kicking the breaker out around the 4th month we had it and then the frequency increased until it ran but quit heating any more...Would suggest buying another brand or model.
Perhaps "made in China" summarizes the problem, which I only realized in the more fine print on the back looking up the serial number below the Illinois address. DO NOT BUY 'MADE IN CHINA" for anything!!
