Magic Chef Microwave Oven May 18, 2009
By P. Dee I love this Magic Chef 900 watt Microwave because it is just the right size, the red is awesome, the instructions are the easiest ever. The temperatures are true and unlike our last microwave we haven't burned anything. Over the years we have owned about 7 microwaves and this is my absolute favorite.

Best Microwave Ever!! Mar 12, 2011
By ScreamingMiMi I got this to replace my Emerson which was making strange noises. I love it so much I will only buy Magic Chef from now on.
First. This is the same size and power of the Emerson but it is much hotter in a good way. Although this is a basic counter top unit it does have a ton of functions that you don't see on other microwaves. And I barely had to read the instructions except for unusual things. There is a button you push that will give you 30 seconds to heat. Keep pressing it and it adds another 30 secs. This is better than the 1 minute timer I had on the Emerson (which they have at K-Mart). This has a bunch of pre-programmed powers. This also has a timer function if you need to time something else.
The buzzer when it is done is not loud at all and the microwave seems to be the normal loudness.
Now the red. If you are afraid of color this is not for you because this thing is glossy nail polish red. Mine is against a white wall so it probably looks "redder". I actually wanted the black but the deal on this was too good.
I got this from HomeDepot.com for $59.99 with free shipping. Then I had a $5 coupon that covered the taxes. It was in great shape when I got it, no dings or scratches. If I had one complaint, which is more a cosmetic thing, there is an opening on the door where the hinge is. I just think stuff could get in there if you are a messy cook like me.

red microwave Jan 10, 2010

"DARKANGEL NEMESIS"
I just got this thing yesterday and put it in my kitchen, which looked pretty nice. It is not a really big microwave, and it has less choices for heating then my generic microwave, which is in storage overseas for the next 19 months. I do not regret to have chosen this microwave versus the Emerson, since I have seen other Emerson items " dying ". I figured, I pay a little more, and get it in red, to match the rest of my red kitchen appliances. Once I opened up the box, there was a small dent and also a some scratches. It is no big deal, because the performance is pretty good. It heats up food faster than my " generic " microwave, so I rather have this one. The color is a nailpolish, ketchup, lipstick darker red, and not as shiny as it is shown,It is shiny, but not metallic in color. The one thing my daughter pointed out was , that she scratched it with her fingernail somehow, and there was also another scratch on it, when I took it out of the box. It was packed well, but I do not know, maybe the delivery and packaging was pretty rough... Anyway, the paint is really sensitive and fingerprints are inevitable, so you gotta polish it like a car a lot. The inside of it is taller, but not that wide, but large enough to thaw up an average sized chicken at the max. I am giving it a four star, because the paint is like a woman's bad red nailpolish, it is sensitive. Other than that is so new, I will keep it the rest of the stars right now for it, because it does heat really well. I really bought it for the color and the previous review. But I would not buy a microwave online anytime soon again, because it is better to buy some things by being able to evaluate the interior/exterior hands on. Pictures deceive us sometimes often. i recommend this item, if you have a red kitchen, but just take in consideration the paint of it is really weak to touch.

LOVE the Red! AND it works great. May 19, 2011
By LakeKids As with many other people wanting to purchase a new microwave I was looking for a slightly smaller size since I don't really do "real" cooking, except for vegetables. There do not seem to be many good reports for any of the ovens out there. When I saw this RED one, I was encouraged by the good reviews, though there weren't many written up. The size is perfect, it's very easy to use, easy to read (other reviewers mentioned that some controls were impossible to read) fairly quiet for a microwave, but oh! the BEAUTIFUL RED color was just as described. The packaging was well done, no dents, scratches or dings, except for a small "smudge" on the glass of the door, barely noticeable. Well....tried a cup of coffee reheated, cooked broccoli, heated frozen dinner entree and all were done perfectly...so will move on to other foods. I have not tried the pre-programmed cooking, since I don't eat those things, but would guess they work well also. This microwave is just what I wanted and hope it lasts for a long time...my old Quasar lasted 23 years! If you love Red in your kitchen and want a microwave that does not take up the whole counter, plus works great, I'd try this one. But be aware...the shipping cost from the shipper were high, make sure you check if you want to spend that much. Wish Amazon was offering free shipping on this item.

Red microwave looks cute and works beautifully Sep 14, 2011

This microwave cooks beautifully and does everything it's supposed to do. What I wish I'd known is that most frozen packaged food cooking time is calculated for 1100 watt microwaves so for this 900 watt oven, I have to add a little time for every item.
