Description:

This amazing drinking hot cocoa with raw cane sugar won the NASFT Outstanding Beverage Award in 2002! It's no wonder since only the finest cocoa beans have been selected to produce this traditional powdered chocolate.

Powerfully flavorful, the richness of l'Ancienne Powdered Chocolate's body yields undertones of fruitiness, which blend with natural vanilla for a subtle and smooth finish. The careful roasting of the beans selected from renowned provenances brings out the excellence of the natural aroma of the cocoa beans ripened in the tropics.

Try chilling this powdered chocolate in a bowl in your refrigerator until cool. Then freeze in an ice cube tray. Slush cubes in a blender for a refreshing iced chocolate drink!

Each container yields approximately 50 servings (2.2 lbs.) of Les Confitures a l'Ancienne Powdered Chocolate imported from France.

2Too sweet!  Aug 16, 2011
By April Henderson
I was really excited to try this mix after the great reviews and having had really good hot chocolate in France. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed about how much sugar is in it. The sweetness just overpowers the chocolate and vanilla flavors. In my opinion, the overall flavor is just slightly better than the Carnation instant hot cocoa you can buy at your neighborhood supermarket. If there was less sugar, it would probably be pretty good. This is Americanized hot chocolate, not the type of rich hot cocoa goodness I had in France.

5My students rave about it - so do I  Dec 03, 2010
By Dr. Jeffrey Schnitzer
My office is known for its hot chocolate. Students from elementary through graduate school love it. Part of the credit goes to the base we use - Crescent Ridge Low Fat Chocolate Milk - the best chocolate milk I've ever had - certainly the best one can get in eastern Massachusetts. But what makes it really special is this French powdered chocolate mixed in. There really is no better - I have tried other "gourmet" chocolates - none match up. Very highly recommended.

5The BEST!!!!  Jan 04, 2009

Definitely the best hot chocolate drinking powder you can find/buy in the USA. Add a tablespoon of Valrhona cocoa and you're set for a terrific treat!

5The best tasting cocoa powder for hot chocolate!!  Sep 30, 2008
By Sundae Girl "music, movie and book lover"
This cocoa powder makes a rich, yummy cocoa whether mixing into hot milk or hot rice milk. Mix it into Greek plain yogurt and it tastes like a chocolate mousse, but healthier. Mix it into smoothies too!

5much better than expected  Sep 12, 2008

This hot chocolate is very creamy even mixed with water. A really dark, rich chocolate flavor without all the extra ingredients that you can't pronounce.
