Love this product Jan 11, 2007
By L. Howell I purchased this item as a gift. It was absolutely beutiful and well made. Make sure you purchase a rack to set it on so that the bamboo doesn't char and discolor. These are available through amazon as well, but I don't beleive from the same company...

I had been looking for the kind of bamboo steamer my mom had when she taught me how to cook. Most of the ones available in stores are too shallow to accommodate steaming dishes for the authentic Chinese dinners I cook. Those were made more for pupu size foods to be put directly onto the wood slats. I was happy to finally fine this steamer because it holds my large steaming dish for things like pork hash, steamed chicken, Chinese-style steamed fish, etc.
