5perfect rice every time!  Dec 14, 2010
By Luv2Read
This is the best rice cooker. It cooks rice perfectly. I use many types of rice and all are cooked to perfection, even the blended rice assortments with 4 or more different rice types. It is easy to use and does not require any monitoring during the cooking process. It literally is a fill it up and turn it on product and enjoy the finished rice! I haven't used it for anything other than rice, but if I only use it for rice, it is worth the price.

5Great cooker  Oct 15, 2011
By Dante "Hardware Guru"
I've primarily been using this cooker for rice and it even does that perfectly. It's well built and designed.

Pro's: Simple, reliable, easy to clean, and looks great.

Con's: The digital display does not count down time remaining or even give an estimate when cooking a dish such as Rice. The unit appears to make it's own estimate based on the button selection, weight of food, and possibly steam. Still, the times are close to those written in the manual.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase, I wanted a multi-function cooker like this and having one that actually looks good enough to leave out on the kitchen counter is a nice bonus.

4Useful and easy!  Apr 11, 2011
By Critic
Great product, very easy to cook rice, you just need to measure the ingredientes, put them together and press a button, voila! Then wait until you hear a beep. It automatically sets the time required to cook what you put on it.
Rice does not get sticky and it's always perfect, works well either with white or brown rice. Very easy to clean.
Krups products are remarkable for their design: sober, clean and cute.

I have not used it yet to cook any other type of food (it's capable for slow cooking and steam cooking) though, except that I have cooked steamed vegetables at the same time when rice is being cooked.

However, while the rice cooker pot is good enough to prepare a 4 portion rice meal at a time, the tray for steam cooking is very small, it barely provides enough room to cook about 1.5 portions of vegetables.

It comes with a recipe book which honestly is not very easy to follow when it comes to put things together in the rice cooker (some recipes are not clear when you need to cook different types of ingredients, i.e. you may get confused when deciding if you have to cook meat or vegetables separately or together with the rice). If you look for the instruction manual at the krups website you will find that they have posted an old manual which also has recipes that are much easier to follow (please note that such old manual corresponds to a 10 cup rice cooker, so you may need to modify the proportion of the recipes to a half of what is indicated to avoid ovarloading your 5 cup cooker).
Despite the improvements that they can do tho the recipe book, this product is still great!

5Worth the money !  Jul 05, 2011
By Rice lover
I have used different rice cookers (different brands) in the past. I never heard of Krups, and decided to purchase it based on the review, and also stainless steel outerior with digital panel.

We have been using it for about 2 months, and we love it. We ate rice every day.. and we used it everyday. The bottom of the pan is non-stick. (Some brand claimed it non-stick but they are not) Very easy to clean. It has has automatic keep warm setting. The steaming worked well.

This rice cooker will "beep" when the pan is not lining up nicely in the rice cooker. No bubble overflow. The rice come out nicely every time. We love it !

4good value  Aug 19, 2011
By RC521
This is an all in one slow, rice, oatmeal, & steam cooker. It is a good value for the price. I do check it when cooking just to make sure nothing sticks to the pan. It is well built and easy to clean. However, the only problem is that it can boil over, and then it's very messy to clean.
