Not worth the trouble Aug 24, 2010
By E. B. It didn't seem to block any flour from flying as there are too many open spots. If you have a large recipe (i.e. double batch of cookie dough) the ingredients just push the shield up and out of the way. It might work for others but I found it almost the same as cupping my hands around the side to stop things from flying when you start up. It also seems to get in the way quite a bit. I put it in the cabinet and no longer use it. It's easier I guess just to start the mixer slowly to get your ingredients "wet" and then speed it up.

Waste Mar 26, 2012
By Hide This product is useless. It folds in half and rarely stays on. I am a kitchen aid fan but this product does miss the mark. I have a hard time adding flour when the shield is in place. However, it works to keep whatever is already in in.

Kitchen is much cleaner now Feb 10, 2012
By W. C. Lees No longer flinging whipped cream on the kitchen walls which is a good thing, since I'm not real keen on cleaning up right away. Easy on/off with adequate room to add ingredients.

Kitchenaid Pouring Shield Jan 12, 2012
By Ellen L. Platt I had just bought a 4.5 quart Kitchenaid mixer when I bought the shield. It works well with adding flour during mixing. I am glad that I bought it. I haven't tried it for liquids yet, but I'm sure it works well with that also.

Worth the sale price I paid Jan 03, 2012
By Nicci The shield does what it is supposed to do however I found on my mixer (standard kitchenaid) that it wobbled a little bit. It wasn't super sturdy but it still served the purpose. I would recommend it because it helps with pouring the large amount of dry ingredients many of my recipes require but I don't know how much I'd be willing to spend. (I bought it on sale for 12.50)
