Very nice toaster... Mar 17, 2007
By Gail Hicks This is a good-looking, easy to clean toaster that gets the job done. Nothing very fancy, but who needs fancy? I just want toast. It misses the five-star rating because even at the highest setting, it takes two cycles to completely toast my husband's thick english muffins. The slots do self-adjust to accomodate really thick breads, though, so that is a plus. The bagel and warming features are handy extras, and the crumb tray is easily removed and cleaned. Overall, I recommend this product.

Just what it's supposed to be Aug 29, 2007
By Priuser This is the only toaster I've owned that does its job well, so apparently toasting isn't as easy as it may seem. The range of doneness is perfect for my tastes, the speed is adequate, the uniformity from batch to batch excellent and the evenness of toasting unequaled. I can't agree with taking points off the rating because of size (if it were less high, it wouldn't be deep enough to toast bread evenly to the edges, and if it were narrower, it wouldn't be able to keep cool surfaces while still boasting all metal construction). To me, the only choice would be between this and its four-slice brother (sister?) KitchenAid KMTT400SS 4-Slice Metal Toaster, Brushed Stainless Steel which not only lets you toast twice as many slices at once but also lets you set the two sides to different settings. That model is, in fact, simply two of these joined together in one case.

Does a great job on bagels and bread. Bagel option is great! A bit slow compared to other toasters but does a great job. Very consistent.

Toaster Perfection May 21, 2008
By Christine All I wanted was a toaster that would do it's job well. I had been through toasters and toaster ovens that would only toast one side of the bread, needed more than one cycle, burn bagels, etc. etc. After some research, I decided to try out this Kitchenaid model and I'm glad I did.
I'm a frequent bagel eater and I find the bagel function to be very handy. It perfectly toasts the cut side of the bagel while warming the other side, which leaves the bagel still perfectly chewy.
The toasting levels are very easy to adjust, just turn the knob, and you have perfect, evenly browned toast. Cleanup is a breeze. Plus, it comes in a variety of colors to suit pretty much everyone out there.
No frills, nothing fancy schmancy....it's just a toaster that does it's job well.

Lasted 15 months Aug 16, 2010
By cmbr99 For a toaster this expensive, one might think it would last a few years. NOT! While it was working, it worked very well. Just after the warranty expired, the lever that you press to make it toast decided it would no longer stay down. The toaster still works, but you have to now stand there and hold it the entire time you are toasting something.
I am going back to a less-expensive Black & Decker model. This was not a good experience at all.
