Tired of fixing my kitchen aid mixers Jan 26, 2011
By Nicole Zecchino I have had a number of these mixers and although I use them in a bakery setting, that is what they are made for. I have the same 2 problems with all of them: either the gears get stripped and they stop spinning or the speeds fail and I can only mix at a low or super fast speed. I am now supplementing at work with my 6qt kitchen aid from home and it seems to be doing fine so far, but is so loud that I can't even answer the phone when it's mixing. I don't think I will ever buy another one of these mixers.

High quality product, but has more noise than my previous 50 year old commercial Kitchenaid. I hope this one lasts as long. Feb 16, 2011

We replaced our inherited 50 year old Kitchenaid commercial mixer that my Mother purchased while she was managing a cafe. The new mixer does everything the old one did, except that it has a little more noise. While that in no way reflects on the quality of the mixer, it is a little annoying. However, that is a small price to pay for such a high quality product.
We did not want just the hype, but a true commercial quality mixer. My wife does some heavy baking of cookies, cakes, etc for all of our kids and grandkids, and she is very happy with this mixer. We purchased this one instead of the high end consumer mixer because we had such great use out of the old one. It only comes in white, but it makes it feel like you are getting something right out of your favorite restaurant for home use.
Would I buy it again? You bet! The attachments provided will do most anything we ask of this machine. Everything about it says it is made for hard use. All in all, this mixer is fabulous.

Second commercial kitchenaid Apr 26, 2010
By Ruth K. Raich
"master baker"
I am disappointed in the quality of this mixer. This is my second commercial kitchen aid mixer. The first lasted many years and was used in a commercial setting(bakery/restaurant). The bowls are now not interchangeable with the new mixer so I now have three obsolete bowls. And, the motor is very loud. I am forced to purchase this mixer because there are not any others out there with this size. I'm sure to keep the cost down corners have had to be cut. It's one of the sad results of consummerism and overseas production.

Good product.... Mar 11, 2008
By Randy Blose Purchased this mixer to replace an older one at my workplace. Seems to be every bit as good as the one it replaced, but really the true test comes in time after years of abuse in a professional kitchen. Initial quality is on par with other KitchenAid mixers.
Noisy, but effective Mar 04, 2012
By A. J. Freed Other reviewers had commented on the noise but we bought this anyway thinking "How noisy can it be?" It's noisy, annoyingly loud and noisy. It's effective and does what it is supposed to do. It gets pretty heavy use in a research kitchen but, since it's only 2 months old, I can't really comment on its reliability although it has performed well so far. If you can live with the noise, or if you use it for short periods of time, it's a good product. But if you use it often you might want to order these as well Howard Leight LPF-1 Max Lite Uncorded Foam Earplugs Box, 200 Pair
