Best Juicer There Is! Jun 13, 2009
By C. Werner I have been juicing for years with a few different cheap brand names. They were ok but very difficult to clean and very loud. I like to make my juice early in the morning before I go to the gym and it would sometimes wake up my neighbors if I did it too early. Many times I had to juice after the gym because it was so loud. The first thing that I noticed with the Power Juicer Pro is that it is super quite. Secondly it is pretty easy to clean. Thirdly, the machine is just beautiful. And lastly, the juice is much finer and cleaner than juice made from much cheaper machines. If you are serious into juicing and you do it everyday this is the machine to get. If you juice once in awhile you might want to get the cheaper Jack Lalanne plastic models. But beware that the plastic juicers are harder to clean and often get stained by the carrots. I hope that this review will be helpful to some. Happy juicing!!!

Great IF maintained Feb 22, 2010
By Justin T. Maciver I have seen multiple bad reviews on this product, and they are all on the same issue. The unit bogs down. Now, I have used the 4 gallon commercial juicers (sunkist brand, champion brand and warring brand) and this product. IF maintained and used as it was directed it will produce a better quality juice than the machines I used for my work. The main thing is what you add to the unit. If you use a sweet potatoes and hard gummy pulpy items you will have to watch the filter and feed it slowly and pay attention. You cannot expect the product to run well if you jam items into it and crush it in. When the pulp starts having more juice in it, turn the unit off, remove filter clean it and replace. Simple! I love it. I precut just for an easier juicing and it does help. Please dont let people who cant read the manual dissuade you from a great juicer. Remember maint. is the key to this product!

ABSOLUTELY COOL May 01, 2009
By jalcruces Ok, I actually bought this juicer before I read the reviews for this one (Power Juicer Pro) and the other J.LaLanne juicers (Power Juicer, Power Juicer Deluxe). I had wanted one for at least 15 years and put if off due to the cost. So now I have one, and I love it! Like I wrote, I read the reviews after I paid for it already. But alot of the negative reviews were so terribly written and most of the people couldn't even spell - I mean like the word "vegetable"! So I dismissed most of them as uninformed or lacking. And sure enough! If you read the owner's booklet, and use the product properly, you will not have any problems with it. Here are my responses to some of the problems listed by other reviews (this includes all J.LaLanne Power Juicer models):
"Strainer is plastic on the 'Pro'" - No, it isn't. Maybe it used to be when this review was written (?).
"I made 2 quarts of juice, then my juicer started leaking out the sides" - uhm, again if you read the booklet, you should only be making a couple of glasses at a time - one quart max. - then you will need to clean the strainer as the pulp will clog up the strainer and cause juice to back up into the machine. This juicer is not designed to hold liquid.
"The motor shaft sheared off when I tightened the blade onto it". The booklet states to be careful when tightening on the blade as this can cause the shaft to shear. This may be a legitimate problem with the product and this shaft ShouLD be metal, not plastic. So far, I have had no problems, and am very careful not to tighten too hard.
"I put in radishes and they blew out the pulp chute". The booklet states to follow small items immediately with larger ones to keep this from happening. I have not had a problem with small items such as radishes.
"The spout leaks all over the place". Again, I have had no problems with the spout.
"It is hard to clean and the little brush they give you does nothing". This product is EXTREMELY easy to clean. The brush works very well on the strainer. A power water sprayer also works wonders. Additional advice is to clean right after juicing, or right after you enjoy your juice. Naturally, if you let the juicer sit uncleaned, the pulp and juice residue will get dry and hard and be difficult to get off. If you clean it right away, it is a breeze and shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to clean the five pieces.
This juicer also comes with two juice recipe books and one juice and pulp recipe book (muffins, soups, and such).

Works very well Jan 15, 2010
By Jim Richmond Before I start my review, I thought I'd point out how the reviews here for the product are either great or horrible. Nothing in the middle, which is very strange. I almost wonder if some folks are mistakely thinking of another product.
I've been using this product almost daily for about 2 or 3 months now, and it has always done a great job. It's designed well for easy assembly and disassembly, and cleaning.
The only reason this product might not work well is if the owners don't take care of it. There's nothing difficult about using and maintaining this product, but neglect might easily ruin it.
The only concern area might be the blade, which on mine is almost at the point of wanting to replace. I'm not sure yet how easy it might be to get a replacement, and/or how much it might cost.

Warning - DO NOT BUY Sep 10, 2009
By geneaux This juicer stopped working after 2 weeks - the power switch broke. Check the manufacturer's website - they want you to ship the unit back at your expense, AND include a check for $30 for their return shipping! Outrageous - You are out another $60 or so just to ship it back for repair. I definitely would not buy any product from these people again.
