Description:

The Hamilton Beach CPM700 stand mixer features: Tough, all-metal gears vary the speed and torque for all three attachments and provide excellent durability. The low center of gravity offers minimal vibration for secure mixing, while the die-cast aluminum body is built to endure years of mixing. Made to perform: The variable-speed, 800-watt motor maintains speed regardless of load, yet is gentle enough to mix delicate foods. No matter what’s being mixed, the mixer provides complete bowl coverage. The flat beater is angled to cover the whole bowl; the whisk is balloon-shaped for maximum aeration; the dough hook is strong enough to knead the heaviest breads. The pop-up head lifts for quick and easy attachment changes and bowl removal. This unique feature eliminates the need to put your hand in the mixture to change attachments or remove the bowl. Also, the tilt-back head makes adding ingredients or scraping the sides of the bowl much easier. Full of safeguards: The recessed -incheson-inches button prevents the mixer from being accidentally activated. A unique safety cut-off stops the mixer immediately anytime the head is raised. In addition, the motor features overload protection to help prevent overheating.

Features:
  • Powerful 800-watt stand mixer maintains constant speed regardless of load

  • 7-quart stainless-steel bowl; rotating mixing action for complete bowl coverage

  • Tough, all-metal gears; safety cut-off; durable die-cast aluminum body

5Fantastic Mixer  Feb 23, 2008
By Jennifer
WOW! This is a real work horse of a machine. I picked mine up on eBay a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. With 800 watts of power you don't have to worry about thawing butter or handling the thickest of doughs. It includes three attachments heads (wire whisk, dough hook and beater) and they are very sturdy. The steel mixing bowl is sturdy and cleans easily. Controls are simply and it has a great safety cutoff to prevent the machine from operating when the head is tilted back.

4Functional and Durable  Aug 29, 2011

Hamilton Beach CPM700 Commercial Stand Mixer, Silver I bought this mixer when I had a baking business making about 50 cakes plus many pounds of cookies a week. It is the 4th mixer I bought after I burned through 3 others. Most people don't need to have as large a bowl but if you do, I would recommend this one over the Kitchen Aid and definitely over the Viking I had. Most importantly it has an automatic shut off when the motor gets overheated, which the others do not. It doesn't offer a splatter shield, but it is the exact shape as the Viking so you can order one from that company and it will work fine. The warrantee is not as good as the Kitchen Aid which automatically sends you another within days, but it also is more durable if you are doing some heavy duty baking.

2How Sad  Dec 05, 2011
By Gary B. Gilliam "GB Gill"
We bought one of these to replace a Kenwood 7qt mixer that was worked to death, on the assumption ( as stated in one of the reviews here) that the Hamilton Beach is a re-branded UK made Kenwood. Nope. The one we received is 'made in China'. Very obvious quality drop from the old one. The Hamilton struggles with a batch of slack ciabatta dough, much less anything stiffer. The hinge on the body is so loose/sloppy that the head assembly shakes from side to side when in use, making it impossible to properly adjust the beaters/hooks. How sad.

We still have the 25+year old 5qt blue and white Kenwood, works great, but he does not see much use because of the smaller capacity.

We do like the big red kill switch on the front of the new Hamilton, and the added handles on the bowl are nice. Since she prefers a tilt head planetary mixer over a drop bowl type like the 7qt Kitchen-aid or smaller Hobart types, I really don't know what to do other than looking for an unused counter queen Kenwood somewhere.

Update on 1/02/2012: The mixer did not survive the 2011 Holiday Baking Frenzy. After mixing just two batches of moderately stiff bread dough, the thermal overload kicked in, the mixer shut off, and has not returned after more than a day. I assume that it is dead, and a warranty claim is in order. The Kenwood survived many Holiday Baking Frenzies.

5Great mixer  Nov 20, 2010

This is a really good machine. I have had mine about 10 years and it has been non-stop. I am pretty tough on it too. It has a 7 quart bowl, which makes it possible to do up to 3 batches of cookies at once. A real time saver. There is a cut-off switch when tilted and it will never start up unless you hit the green button. So you never have the flour going all over the kitchen. The speed knob turns smoothly with complete control. It has a lot of power to get through the toughest doughs. The bowl locks in very easily too. I finally thought it would be time to disassemble it a bit for a thorough cleaning and was surprised on its good internal condition. Other than its excellent performance, I like the fact that it is lightweight. Much easier to get in and out of cabinets than the other brands. My only request is to be able to get attachments, i.e. meat grinder, blender, pasta maker, etc. I have not been able to find any, and there are all the hook ups on the machine.

5Work Horse  Sep 25, 2011
By D. Morcos "Dmor"
I have a kitchen aid 5 cup mixer that I have no other issues with except for capacity. I use this for larger dough and it does deliver.
Very nice looking machine and built like a brick. I want to mention that behind the top front plastic Grey cover there is an accessory/attachment socket, but I have not found anything online or in the manual that list any attachment. Maybe for the future.
Also, for the capacity at this price it is a steel compared to anything else out there.
