The BEST Chocolate in the world Apr 19, 2009
By K. Sartain I've been a chocoholic for about 50 years. I've tried every brand at every percentage level. I've traveled all over the world and tried the best foreign brands. Hands down Ghirardelli is the best! It wins professional taste testings consistantly and has the deepest most complex chocolate flavor. I buy this by the case and eat a piece everyday and never tire of it's intense rich taste. And I am most proud that this world class chocolate is from my home city of San Francisco.

Healthy Eating Apr 07, 2010
By S550 Bought this dark chocolate mainly because of the German study of 20,000 people that showed people who ate 6 grams of dark chocolate a day had a 39% less chance of getting a stroke or heart attack. Because of the Flavanols. Since I bought this, I have had neither! Oh, yeah; it tastes pretty good, too.

WOW! Chocolate OVERLOAD! Mar 22, 2009
By Tall Paul The most intense chocolate I ever had. I only ate 2 squares and the chocolate buzz hit me immediately and lasted about 30 minutes. This stuff is not for amateurs, this is the real deal. The flavor is so complex I was tasting different chocolate layers in each bite. The downside is it has a lot of fat. This stuff is for serious chocoholics.

the un-wimpy chocolate Jan 14, 2012
By Santoku, Mr. If you're not used to dark chocolate, Ghirardelli 72% takes a while to get used to because it's flavor is stronger than most others in the 70-72% range. I used to like Lindt 70% (before they changed the recipe), but Ghirardelli's flavor is more unadulterated and stronger, with a bitterness and 'bite' that I like. A lot of other chocs (especially the more common supermarket brands) strive for smoothness and creaminess...in other words yuck. This one doesn't. 72% is a very nice cocoa percentage. This is my staple chocolate in the 70-72% range. I have tasted even better chocs in this cocoa range, but they are organic ones from the health food store that cost at least 1/3rd more.

My First/Only Choice Nov 19, 2011
By Diane L I eat only this brand and percentage - 72%, it is the only one that agrees with me. The taste is wonderful. I have trouble with milk but butter is always less of a problem so that makes this one my best option that I've found.
