Bigger is better! Jun 28, 2004
By Henry Perkins This is the perfect pan for making single-skillet meals. Unlike conventional shallow pans this one is deep enough to hold food for four people. Scramble eggs for the whole family! Basically it's a modern replacement for a wok -- lots of capacity without the carcinogen risk of high-heat cooking. The only downside? There's no lid. I can make do with the lid from my 20-quart lobster-cooking pot, but it's not an exact fit. I'd gladly pay a couple extra bucks for a matching lid. Farberware seems to have hit the sweet spot in trading off sturdiness and economy. I've dropped this once or twice onto my kitchen floor and the bootom is still flat. The non-stick coating is still non-sticking. Yes, you can get better-quality skillets, but not for near this price. Highly recommended.

I love my pan. The only drawback is that it doesn't come with a lid. I happen to have one that fits, so that isn't a problem for me. I even use this big pan to fry a couple of eggs. It is used almost every meal. Great quality!

Good so far... Oct 27, 2002
For the price, this pan has so far served me very well. I've only had it for a month or so, so I suppose it may wear out, but at the moment it's an excellent pan. And at this price, it doesn't exactly have to last a lifetime, either.

Deep Skillet Mar 25, 2008
By J. Wells I have been using this pan nearly everyday for over 8 months. I never imagined I would use it so much when I bought it but it has been great for everything. It is thick sturdy material and has not warped on me. I feel it is great quality. The non-stick surface has held up better than any other I have seen. I dont have a single scratch in it. I own mostly Farberware pots and pans some 15 years old. My parents have had theirs for over 40 years without even a cracked handle.
I purchased one of the 12-inch glass lids and really like it too. I think one or the other may be slightly out of shape because sometimes I have to shift the lid slightly to get it to fit. But this only happens on occasion.

This skillet is marvelous - I never put it away Sep 07, 2005

We use it to cook breakfast and/or dinner almost every day. It sits on top of the stove. It washes like a dream in seconds. The skillet cooks food evenly and not too fast. The cheap one we were using before would get too hot and burn things. Food doesn't burn in this one. It's also huge and we like that a lot! The extra handle is wonderful for carrying it around. Wonderful design. Don't forget to buy a glass lid to go with it.
The only two drawbacks are that you aren't supposed to use it at the highest heat, which we do anyway, and it doesn't go into the dishwasher, which I stupidly did once. The shine on the outside is now gone. We just bought one for my husband's daughter.
