lightweight, safe flat bottom, can not cook with vinegar though Dec 06, 2009
By Sparkly I've had it for over a year now. It is indeed lot lighter than a regular make. I seasoned it and it works pretty well. It's not completely non-stick as I don't like heating oil to a very high temperature before putting food in. But the sticky parts are usually very easy to take off using a spatula, and they become crunchy once the whole pan heat up evenly, and then even easier to take off.
While lots of stir fry pans have round bottom, this one has flat bottom , make it safer on the stove. One con being that it is light and the bottom tends to slip. You have to be especially careful if your stove sits in a kitchen island and make sure it does not flip over. I always grip the handle strongly when I mix and toss with spatula.

looks good so far will update Sep 16, 2010

I bought one this wok from bed & bath beyond. I just arrived today. The wok looks nice so far. I have not used to wok my dishes yet. However, I measure the wok. The top diameter is 12 and 3/4", the flat bottom is only 7 and 1/2", I wish it were a bit bigger since the diameter of my electric heating surface is 9". This wok should be deeper by half inch. The joint between interior flat bottom and wok wall should be more smoother for easier wok.
I did simple comparison with my Macy brand stainless steel wok with aluminum bottom. The diameter of the aluminum bottom is 9". I boiled 2 quarts of water with both woks. With my Macy wok, it took 4 min 30 sec to boil 2 quarts of water on my Maytag MER5751BAB stove with dial on 8. The same amount of water took 3 min 30 sec to boil with this iron wok with smaller bottom, leaving some heating area uncover by the wok. This is a better heat transfer.
I will update after I cook some dishes.

Excellent wok! Sep 12, 2009
By Faultlinegal Love this wok. It's a good sized wok, very light so it's easy on the hand and heats up very fast. Food won't stick if you first heat up the wok real good and then swirl in the oil.

Excellent Lightweight Wok Apr 22, 2010
By Shopping on Amazon is My Hobby Usually, cast iron woks are very heavy, but, because of the thin, lightweight design of this wok, the wok is pretty light -- light enough to carry with just one hand when there is no food in the wok. Also, the food cooks nicely and evenly. The only problem for you might be that it is not as large as some of the other woks out there. If you are even considering buying cast iron, you probably know that many of the health gurus recommend buying cast iron over other materials such as aluminum, which leeches into the food and has been linked to Alzheimer's Disease, or stainless steel, which can also leech into the food, causing who knows what. So, if you are looking for a cast iron wok, I highly recommend this wok because it is lightweight. Just know that this wok is slightly smaller than some of the other woks out there.

By J. Chu I read all the reviews and decide to buy one. I happened to be in Marshall's Home Store yesterday and found this ExcelSteel 13-Inch super lightweight cast iron wok, it was $24.99. I was overjoyed and bought 3 of them. I kept one and give the other two to my 2 daughters as mother's day presents. Thanks to all the previous reviewers guided me to this wonderful wok.
