Can't judge a wine cooler by its cover Oct 23, 2010
By Dave
"dccanfield"
I purchased this unit, installed it under my counter with a few inches all around for ventilation. It took two days to approach temperature and struggles when the room temp is over 75 degrees.
After 14 months the LED failed. I paid $38 for a replacement, which was sent without instructions. Edgestar service said, "I think it might just pop out." It actually is screwed in from behind.
By 15 months, I went to get a both of white wine from the 53 degree side to find it was about 80 degrees. Now neither side cools. Edgestar customer service couldn't guess what was wrong. They suggested, "Try Googling small appliance repair and your ZIP code." I was unable to find anyone familiar with repair of thermoelectric units. I should have suspected something with a cooling unit warranty of only 90 days parts & labor and 12 months parts. Anyone want a room temperature wine storage unit? It is pretty nice looking.

Be Careful of This Manufacturer Oct 05, 2010
By Cherryl Sage Really classy look and arrived quickly, but does NOT live up to its advertised performance as one side will not hold the set temp. Manufacture acknowledges half is busted, but warranty only works if YOU pay to ship it back. Looks like EDGESTAR is having customers final test each unit.

eats a lot of energy Mar 04, 2011
By Eu it have limted tenperatures (you can not go over 46 and 52 as limits) and it never stop runing. It is noise. Otherwise it keeps the wine in good temperature for a energy price.

It is truely what is says here! Jul 13, 2010
By Wine-a-B's Hello Amazon shoppers. We purchased this dual zone wine cooler (Edgestar TWR325ESS) on July 4th, 2010. It arrived on July 9th at the neighbors house. By no fault of Compact Appliance or Amazon. Fed Ex missed it by one home. I had to drag it through the yards. Now there's a mental picture. Once in our garage, we cut the outer box down the side to inspect everything. The cooler was well packed inside the outer box. After removing the straps, we lifted the cooler box up and off. The cooler was in great, new shape. (saving the boxes) No damages. We then lifted the cooler out of its packaging and I carried it, level as possible, into our dining room to put it together. It took five minutes to put the handles on and remove the inner packaging of the shelves. We waited three hours before turning it on. (I had read that somewhere) After an inside wiping of dust, we positioned it according to the manual, and plugged it in. The cooler is very quite when running. The controls are easy to use. The blue light inside each side is neat looking and can be turned on or off. We set the left side to 50 and the right side to 64. I put a thermometer inside both sides. It took four days to get to 48.5 on the left so I bumped it up to 52. Very close in temp so far! I rated it four stars. Nobody is perfect and after ten days the price dropped 30 bucks. We paid 429.00 plus 79.00 shipping. After some passage of time, I may end up removing the Edgstar logo that appears on the bottom of each glass door. It would make the unit even more contemporary without the advertising. Thanks for reading!

Worked for only 3 years Oct 07, 2011
By Snickerdoodle We purchased this wine fridge about three years ago and it worked great until just recently. A couple of weeks ago, it started a low grade hissing sound and just today we discovered that one side is not cooling. In fact, it feels very warm on that side. Obviously, we are well beyond our warrantee period so all we can do is try and call the manufacturer to see if there is anything we can do to fix it. We aren't feeling very hopeful. In any case, while it worked for 3 years, we don't believe that is a good return on an investment of $450! Our advice is: if you are going to splurge on a wine fridge, spend a little more money and get a reputable brand that will last longer.
