3Powerful, yet smelly?  Jan 11, 2007
By Tabel
This blender works but smells like burning whenever I run it. I am not so happy with it because of the smell but it sure blends.

1The WORST!!!  Jun 21, 2007
By E. Swope
I replaced an old plastic black & decker with this, thinking it was a more powerful and better built product(it was the glass canister and 500 watt engine which made me think it would perform better)....but sheesh! what a disappointment (to say the least). there is almost nothing this blender can handle- strawberies choke it, yogurt clogs it, and, despite its "crushed ice" setting, it does little but toss the cubes around and nick a bit off the edges.

It smells like burning rubber whenever it runs...and noisy, yes that too- but, thoroughly ineffective.

I would return it, but for the cost of shipping such a heavy item.
This is one of the worst kitchen appliances I have ever owned. It compares unfavorably to my $10 model from college!

2Where's the power?  Jan 04, 2007
By Patrick T. Kelley
This kitchen appliance makes a lot of noise and doesn't do a lot of work. The motor smells like it's overheating even when just mixing protien drinks that are almost all liquids. It is a poor food processor at best. (clogs easily) It is easy to take apart and clean and the pitcher is solid, but try another brand.

2Nothing but problems!  Sep 10, 2007
By Leanne
My husband and I purchased this blender a little over a year ago, and we've had nothing but problems with it ever since! Although the blender itself works really well, it's the maintenance of it that is a real pain. First of all, you need to unscrew the blender completely to wash it each time you use it or it will start to develop a really bad smell. With other blenders we've had in the past, we never needed to wash them quite so thoroughly.

Another problem is that it is really difficult to screw the base on. I have a hard time screwing it on tightly, so it has started to leak on me several times. If I have my husband screw the base on, though, it's so tight that I can't unscrew it to wash it, which leads to the problems mentioned above about it starting to smell if you don't wash it each time.

The blender has also chewed up the rubber gasket several times, meaning that we had to track down and purchase just the replacement parts.

Overall, this blender works well as a blender (which is why I gave it two stars), but it has been causing so many problems that we are going to purchase a new one that it easier to clean and maintain. I do not recommend this one!

1Bought this and hate it!  Oct 19, 2006
By LW Raboys
Just purchased this blender & am returning it immediately. It has a number of terrible features: it's very difficult to remove the cover if you have carpal tunnel, arthritis, or weak hands. To change speeds you turn a dial (as opposed to the buttons on most others), which makes for rough transitions. Moreover, the dial feels very flimsy and I doubt this machine will last. I purchased this model because I thought its premium price would mean a premium product, but from the plastic gears to the flimsy dial, to the impossible-to-open cover, I hate it. Will go back to either an Oster or Waring, both of which served me well, each for over 10 years.
