5Now this is a toaster!  Apr 28, 2004
By Lou Ann B "brown9340"
I bought this Cuisinart toaster about a month ago. Previously, I owned a cheap Toastmaster two slice toaster that I had since college.

This toaster is compact but has everything you could need. It has slots wide enough for homemade bread and bagels, a reheat and defrost button and a cancel button. It is a very powerful toaster for sandwich bread. The first time I used it I was too excited to read the instructions first so I set the LED dial at 5 which was the level I used on my Toastmaster. That was a mistake because I burnt the toast crisp. This toaster I only have to set to a 2 to get my toast a nice brown shade. It really puts off the heat. I don't eat bagels so I can't say how it does on them. On Toaster Strudels it works well at a level 4 or 5 setting.

I love this toaster and would buy it again!

5Excellent Toaster!  Jul 17, 2004

I bought the Cuisinart CP-120 toaster and I am more than happy with it. The toaster is of high quality and automatically adjusts to any thickness of bread that you place in it. Also, you will never have to reach down into the toaster to retrieve small pieces of bread because the platform that holds the bread can be brought all the way up to the top of the toaster. It toasts very evenly and the various settings like "Bagel" and "Defrost" are useful. These settings keep you from ever having to toast an item a 2nd time because it was not done. The outside of the toaster never gets hot, (only warm) so you won't get burned. The toaster comes in White or Red.

3Runs Hot  Oct 10, 2005
By P. McWaters "Normal Guy"
Have been using the new toaster for about a month. Pros: Nice clean look. Cons: 3 major complaints. 1) It runs way too hot. We initially set it on #4/5, thinking that was middle of the road doneness. Unfortunately my toast looked like it had been cooked in molten lava. We are now using #2 and it seems OK, but I can't get the toaster waffles to come out right. (In case you are wondering, Yes, I read the manuals that come with appliances). 2) Slots not long enough. I am not buying "Special" bread, just stuff off the racks at the local supermarket and it doesn't fit in the slots. The toaster will handle a "girthy" bagel, but not a wide piece of bread. Weak. 3) The dial is really lame. You think a high-tech LCD readout when buying the toaster, but its really just a lighted dial.

Bottom Line: The toaster works, but I would not buy it again, nor recommend it to others.

1Nice design & attractive features -- but electronics sure got toasted  Jan 21, 2006
By Rudy "pain-doc"
This toaster worked great for over a month, yielding evenly browned slices; the defrost feature was particularly useful. But after 2-3 months the 'browning' dial suddenly stopped functioning so that - even at the lowest setting - the bread would keep on toasting till it turned black and smoky, and even then kept going till unplugged. After a few fire alarms, we just unplugged it. Then the 'Bagel' light came on uninvited and could not be turned off - yet without browning one side only. Not worth the hassle going thru warranty -- we're buying different make; are any still made in the USA??

1Toasts unevenly  Mar 11, 2007
By M. Maddocks
This appliance has several good features, but they are outweighted by the fact that it does not produce a decent piece of toast. At the lowest setting one side of the toast comes out too brown, the other side barely toasted. The inner side of the bread toasts faster than the outer side. We did manage to get a decent piece of toast by inserting the bread, setting a timer for 1 minute, pressing cancel, reversing the bread, and slowly counting to thirty before pressing cancel again. Far too much work!
