4The lid is slightly too small  Feb 09, 2009
By Melissa R. Dale "mrd232"
First off, the pot itself is great. My food cooks evenly, doesn't stick, and is easy to clean off after use. The pot is also well-made, not flimsy in the least.

The lid, however, fits too loosely. Using it as a strainer for smaller items can be somewhat difficult as it may slide or go back and forth while straining. It's not a huge problem - it's not a detriment to use, just a small complaint.

4Genuine non-stick, great strainer!  Jun 01, 2009
By Inaru "bibliophilia"
This pot heats up well and evenly. The pour spout's great, and the strainer-lid is a real treat for straining pasta! Only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is the lid's not air-tight, steam escapes when anything's boiling. It cleans up so easily!

5great little pan  Feb 14, 2010
By F. Bergeron
I bought this pan for my mother, due to the easy pour spout. But I find I use it more than her. The pan is lightweight non stick and contrary to other reviews I love the cover. The cover also acts to drain your food, but you have to hold the cover while draining. I like the fact that the cover is not tight as I always have to tilt the cover of other pans when boiling pasta or potatos. Cuisinart wins again.

2Lightweight and poorly made  Feb 08, 2010
By Penmouse
I bought this saucepan in November 2008 to replace my 10+ year old saucepan bought at Costco. Cuisinart usually makes fairly decent kitchen wares. In this case not. The saucepan was much thinner than my old Costco cookware. It was touted as being sturdy enough to use metal cookware. Not. I threw the pan out yesterday after the nonstick was peeling off in chunks. I never used metal cookware in this pan. I used my silicone or plastic cooking utensils.

As to the thin pan. This pan is a lightweight pan that heats up quickly. It does not have a heavy bottom so food could scorch.

The only nifty feature about this pan was the strain and pour. Kind of handy but not needed for this size of pan as it would not normally be used to cook pasta. Perhaps sauces and vegetables.

By the way, the old Costco 2 quart saucepan is still cooking away...

5My favorite pot!  Jan 16, 2012
By Bobette Rife "bobette27"
This is my favorite pot for boiling macaroni noodles for four people. It is the right size for a two pound bag of baby potatoes, and many other vegetables for four persons. The lid has two different settings for allowing steam to escape, and for pouring off the water when you are finished boiling. I have noticed that we have a couple of scratch marks in the nonstick coating--I have owned this pan for about six years. We have been very careful about not using metal in the pot, so I am guessing that the marks are from normal wear of stirring in the pot. While that is a minus, the price is reasonable for what this pot does, and how much I have used it. I just purchased another, to make sure that we have a replacement for when the marks in the nonstick coating become necessary to replace the pan. Even my husband commented that we use this pot all of the time, and he didn't know what we would replace it with if I had to throw it out--hence, we now have a brand new one waiting in the box!
