4Still works three years later but beaters will rust/peel if left wet.  Jun 17, 2011
By naware
I wanted a good quality mixer with stainless steel blades that would last me a lifetime. However, it seems they stopped making those in the 70's. If you buy an expensive mixer now, it will break in six months anyway with important parts made from cheap plastic--planned obsolescence so they can make you buy another one.

So I decided, if a mixer will break within six months, then I might as well have a 10 buck mixer that breaks in six months instead of a $70 one. So I bought the cheap one (this same one) at the $1 store where it cost like 7 or 8 bucks. The seven speeds are all the same speed. The beaters will eventually rust or the cheap chrome on them will flake off if you leave them soaking in water. But the mixer is still working 3 years later. But I only use it once a week or once every two weeks and not for very long.

What I would like is this mixer with stainless steel beaters if that wasn't too much more expensive.

You can't stand this mixer up at all. That is kind of annoying. The best you can do is prop the beaters on your mixing bowl and hope it doesn't fall or else lay it on its side and let the beaters drip onto the counter or over a plate.
