3Steaming is healthy!  Apr 14, 2010
By Big John "mesa dweller"
This bamboo steamer is thinner than most I own, but it does the job. I worry that it will fall apart as it is flimsy and not well tied together, but so far it works. It was rather high priced (almost 20 bucks with shipping) for such a lightweight steamer.

5Healthy food  Jun 22, 2010

If you want to eat healthy, this is the tool you need: 2- story bamboo steamer. Steaming without any oil or fat!
Just cut your vegetables in desired pieces and place them in the bamboo layers.Even sliced potatoes work. Potatoes for example takes longer to be done so put them in the bottom layer.Add water in a pot or wok and put the bamboo steamer on top and let the water steam do the work. You can also serve your dish in the bamboo steamer.
Great product, I bought 2 different sizes and love it.

5Great!  Feb 16, 2011
By Emka B. "Emka"
I use it for steaming veggies for my little one and for myself and it works great. I researched for different steamers and after a thorough consideration I decided to purchase this one. Some were great but weren't BPA free, some would just take too much space. This all natural steamer is easy to use, clean and steams fast!

Economical, and it fits my Corningwear Visions pot well. Not really much else to say.

5Excellent results, easy maintenance, elegant  Jan 09, 2012

I have used this steamer for over a year now. I was new to steamers and had to do some research on how to use them. I use it by perching it on top of a pot that has a wide turned-out lip with the same diameter as this steamer. So I put about an inch-deep worth of water in the pot, perch this on top with the veggies in it. As soon as the water starts boiling with the steam rising from it, I start timing it. I typically keep the veggies a little crunchy, not let them get soggy. Most veggies such as broccoli cook in about 5 minutes. Some, like carrots, take closer to 8 minutes.

The result is typically superb. The vents work very well and steam the veggies through and through. The natural bamboo lends a slight woody fragrance to the food. If you wash the steamer right away, and sit it on the dish drainer, it is easy to keep clean. I avoid using a dish scrub as the foam or scrubbing pad pieces can get caught in the bamboo. Instead, I use a plastic brush that I also use for my daughter's milk bottles. Philips AVENT BPA-Free Bottle Brush. It works well to get any bits of broccoli/veggie out of the natural striations or splints in the bamboo, and cleans it with the least amount of effort.

It looks very elegant too, and I have gifted it to a couple of my health conscious friends since I started using it.
