Solid but not exceptional. Sep 23, 2008
By JD Ritch
"Tha Rocketman"
Before I purchased this grill I was looking for the Char-Broil Fire & Ice Grill (the one with the cooler below); however they have discontinued it for some weird reason. So I researched this one for my tailgate and decided to give it a try. I normally use charcoal however it is such a mess and the smoke blows over into others tailgates which is a little rude.
PROS: Great portable grill; love the side tables; 16 oz propane tank lasted hours (which is very nice); cute little extras like a flag and extra propane tank holder, a holder for paper towels and a holder for the propane tank in use; LED lights are a nice touch; very light considering how large this grill is; has a Non-Stick Teflon coated griddle (good for breakfast items); has a grease collector under the grill; has an ignitior, very easy to setup and start cooking
CONS: You have to assemble this grill out of the box (takes about an hour) and this was disappointing;
MOST DISAPPOINTING FEATURE...you cannot just extend the legs of the base and start grilling, you must take the grill off, extend the legs and set the grill on top of the base, this again applies if you want to collapse the grill, you must take the grill off the base collapse the legs and place the grill back on top; does not have a propane gauge letting you know how much gas is left; make sure it is on a level surface, we tried to make scrambled eggs and they ran off the griddle down to the bottom of the grill
Overall if you can catch this grill on sale it is worth the money (purchased mine for around $160 on Amazon). I still believe a $200 grill should have some extra features like a propane gauge, and the grill should be able to setup without taking it on and off the base.
***PS:Thermos sells a carrying bag for the Grill 2 Go; however it does NOT fit this model. You can fit the grill but not the legs. Returned the carrying bag to Amazon and had my $40 refunded.***

Tailgating Fun!! Mar 04, 2007
By Tarheel4Life

I got my Grill to Go Advantage just recently and have been very pleased so far. The makers of the Grill 2 Go appear to have heard some of the criticisms of earlier models and taken that into consideration with this grill. The open flame cooking is preferable to the previous models, it is still easy to transport, and it has made tailgating with friends before watching my Tarheels play basketball a lot of fun. I completely disagree with the other reviewer who seems to be reviewing the wrong product since this grill does not use a non-stick cooking surface for the cooking area.

Great Product! May 09, 2007
By M. Suchocki Although a little bigger and heavier than expected, the Grill2Go is a great product. Assembly seemed a bit intimidating but that too was alright to deal with. The two sided open flame grills with hinged griddle attachment make cooking options very flexible. Also hinged "counter" trays allow for great places to set things down.

Inspect it first! Aug 31, 2007
By BDC The grill I received was mired with pock marks on the lid where the finish popped. It looked like it was shot with a BB machine gun. I didn't return it because I needed to use it and I don't expect to use it very often. I bought it to take to tailgates, car camping, and the beach. The features sold me...nice size for larger groups, paper towel rack...place for a trash bag (albeit grocery size only). The plastic legs aren't really designed for strength so be careful when opening and locking out (lockouts are metal so legs will bend first!). First use was tuna steaks and veggies at the beach. I wasn't sure if it would get hot enough but it charred my veggies and bronzed the tuna nicely. If it can do that, burgers and brats should be a breeze!

This is a great grill Jun 11, 2007
By Nicole Cardin We purchased this grill for camping. It assembled easily and it works great! I purchased the adapter hose to hook it up to a 20lb propane tank, but we also used it with the smaller canisters and it worked great both ways. When folded it's easy to move around. The only drawback is that you cannot role it when it is set up for grilling. To move it you have to pick up the entire grill - it's not hard to move, just a bit cumbersome. It would be great if they could add a small set of wheels so it can be rolled when set up. Other than that, this is a great grill and I am glad we purchased it.
