Wok-some! Jan 12, 2008
By T. Downey It is well made and it came with informative additional materials and all the extra stuff is nice too. Just don't forget to season it before using. We bought it along with the Breath of a Wok book, and are very satisfied. It's a wonderful, fun way to cook!

Excellent Wok Aug 29, 2008
By Claude W. Greene The wok is great, good size, well made, etc. What makes the purchase excellent is the collection of tools that come with it, and the e-mail and instructions on the care and use of the wok. You get the impression that the seller wants you to get the most out of the product and enjoy using it. I've used a wok before but never had "wok tools", they are nothing unusual but I didn't realize how useful they could be. www.wokshop.com

Wok, Wok, Wok Nov 19, 2010

The Wok Shope is AWESOME!! This complete kit has everything you need to get started cooking in a wok. And, wok cooking is much, much easier than you might think. I bought this as a gift, but I already own a 16" wok, 24" wok, utensils and a cleaning brush from The Wok Shop. They use excellent carbon steel for the woks and high quality stainless steel for the utensils. They also make excellent bamboo items that hold up to abuse. My only, minor complaint about anything is that the wooden handles on the utensils just wedge into the end of the rolled steel shafts. They are hard to keep in place and I have to pound the handle on the counter each time I use it - but none of them has ever fallen apart during use, so it isn't a big deal.
Carbon steel will rust if it is not seasoned and maintained properly. The Wok Shop includes directions for several different seasoning methods. I suggest doing the baking method twice and then doing the garlic/onion method for good measure. It will season the wok perfectly and get rid of the metallic taste that can occur with the first few uses. I also suggest coating the wok with either peanut or sesame oil while storing it. Vegetable oil is a no-no with woks - it can't handle the high heat and if used for storage, it will become rancid the quickest - though it still takes a long time for any cooking oil to go bad.
Wok cooking is very easy and convenient. Remember, if you can fry it in a pan, you can fry it better and faster in a wok. They also work great for deep frying and actually use less oil than other pans.
You can trust The Wok Shop - everything I've ever purchased form them has been well built and made of quality materials.
Enjoy!!
