Great oven BUT Jul 28, 2010 I love this oven and I have used every function but there are a few things to improve upon: When I made a roast and pulled the grate out to remove it the oven tipped forward and the roast hit the floor, also the broiler pan should be stainless instead of enamal as the one supplied is very hard to clean.
It also needs a light inside but other than the things mentioned it works great.
One of the best I've owned but not perfect Jul 25, 2010 I like this oven but there are a couple very minor issues. 1) The controls do not always respond. I must push the on/off button a number of times before it reacts to my command and turning the knobs aren't always immediately responsive. 2) The fan cannot be turned on when the oven is in certain modes - let me decide if I want the fan on or not.
However, overall, I'm very impressed with this oven.
Fantastic toaster oven Jul 23, 2010 Our tiny, well-used Black and Decker toaster oven just died. I read all the positive reviews and video demos on the Breville toaster oven before deciding to purchase it. I was very excited when the oven arrived a few days later. My wife and I setup the toaster oven immediately and she was ready to cook her first pizza. We followed the instructions and had a mostly burnt pizza for our first try. I then tried toasting some plain bread and also over did it. With a little adjusting - usually reducing the heat, time, or both, we had perfectly cooked meals. The presets are not always best for our items but it is very easy to make manual adjustments.
I love being able to toast 6 slices of bread or waffles at a time for the three of us. We could not believe that we could put a full size Digiorno pizza in this oven. The convection feature really does cut cooking time by 25-35%, so adjust your settings accordingly. The pizza tray gets used in our household almost every day and is easy to clean. The baking tray and broiler has been used for fried chicken, salmon, and much more.
One feature that sets this toaster oven apart is that you set the temperature and time. Once the oven is fully preheated, it beeps and the time begins to countdown. Once the time is up, the oven shuts off. No more worrying about setting a separate timer and having to remember to shut off the oven when an item is fully cooked. My wife used to be paranoid that our old toaster oven was not turned off. No more worries and no more overcooked food (as long as you set the temperature and time right. I also like being able to adjust the temperature and time during cooking.
This oven is used daily and is much more useful than our full sized oven as it cooks faster and probably saves on our utility bill. This is a great looking and full featured convection toaster oven. I whole heartedly recommend this to anyone. It is well worth the extra money.
Toasts Unevenly, but am still happy with the purchase. Jul 22, 2010 Bought this when I moved into an apartment so that I could toast breads in the morning and avoid turning on the oven (in usually HOT east Texas) in the evenings. Overall, this product is delivering what I wanted. Satisfies a wide range of heating requirements (I even smear Sweet Baby Rays on baby backs and "BBQ" them in the this).
Two observations after using this for 4 months. The toasting element is inconsistant across the interior surface by at least 1 setting. If you put 3 pieces of toast\bagels across the interior rack, the center section of the unit will toast the bagel\bread to a crispy brown while 80% of the surface of the toast on each side will be warm\hot but at least a setting behind in browning. Second observation. The unit is larger than most toaster ovens and multiple task ovens that I have had in the past -- so it seems to eat up counter space. After 20 years in my home with lots of counter space, this is just a little larger than I would like in this apartment, and it basically consumes all the horizontal contertop between the frig and oven.
But I love the design and looks of the unit, and the crumb\drippings tray on the bottom it top drawer when it comes to easy cleaning\use, and with 450% baking plus a higher setting for broil it satisfies all of my baking needs. Plus that additional size I wish wasn't there means it can fully handles a 13' Papa Murphy's pie with no scrunching. And a full rack (sliced in half) of baby backs.
I love this oven. Jul 22, 2010 This is an awesome oven. I use it for all my oven needs. It is really nice to use it in the summer. The oven heats quickly and cools off quickly keeping my kitchen much cooler than my regular oven.
