Good Basic Coffee Maker Jun 15, 2007
By Library Lady We didn't want timers, clocks, adjustable brew strength, bells and whistles... We just wanted a good cup of coffee. We like the comfortable handle, we like the the location and size of the on/off switch that you can find in the semi-darkness when you're still mostly asleep. And we LOVE the clear markings on the carafe that takes the guesswork out of the fill level. (For this much coffee, fill to this water level.)
We have not experienced the problems mentioned in some of the other reviews. Maybe it's because I'm used previous makers, but I'm in the habit of holding the lid partway open when I pour coffee, so have not noticed the leaky-drippy factor that seems to be the focus of some of the complaints. The only problem I have had so far was not seating the basket properly, thus getting 12 cups of coffee all over my kitchen table. It only happened once because we now take an extra second to make sure the basket and carafe are properly in place.
As far as the referrals to this product as "cheap" - What do you expect for 20-25 dollars?! Normally, I would say "you get what you pay for," but in this case, I feel we got MORE than we paid for: A good coffee maker at a decent price.

Stay away from this one! Jun 05, 2005
By Kate This coffeemaker has many flaws and is made of very cheap materials. I bought it a couple of months ago. The basket has a tiny spring inside that positions the lever properly in order to control the pause and serve feature. The screw pops off very easily. This happened to me when I cleaned the coffee maker for the first time before ever using it. I figured out how to put the spring back in place, but it pops out almost every time it's cleaned. Also, the lid to the carafe no longer secures properly. I'm still using this coffee maker while in the process of trying to find another one.

doesn't make a mess Apr 28, 2008
By Chaucer I love this simple little coffee pot. I have been using this model for years primarily because it is simple and doesn't have much to go wrong with it. I became tired of pots with timers that stop working and make the pot unusable. It makes great coffee and it pours perfectly and does not dribble on the counter. It makes twelve cups of coffee in less than five minutes.

looks good, cheaply made May 19, 2006
By A. Jordan My husband brought home this neat black coffee maker, deliberately choosing one without a timer - the less bells and whistles the less can go wrong . . .right?
How can this company not even get the on-off button right???
it's so cheap, when you push it, the "lighted button" just pushes right in, and doesn't turn the coffeemaker off or on.
Why didn't we keep the box and receipt, so we could return it??
$20 down the drain
DON'T BUY THIS!

The best coffemaker ever Nov 02, 2009

I just bought TWO of these coffeemakers, and they sit side by side on my counter top. My family keeps commenting "love this coffee pot" ever time we get a cup.
Positives are: 1> The pot doesn't drip when you put in the water, 2> It doesn't leak water all over the counter, 3> The pot doesn't drip and leak when you pour a cup of coffee! 4> The price was right, especially since I bought two, 5> Even though the two together qualified for free delivery we had them in 3 days, 6> and lastly, there are NO negatives!
VERY PLEASED!
