non-stick saute pan Feb 07, 2009

When it comes to non-stick pans you will eventually throw them all away, so why spend a fortune? This is a nice pan and doesn't cost too much. Take care of it and it will last a couple of years.

Go ahead and try something new! May 12, 2010

As soon as I got this pan, some of the first things I made were scrambled eggs, omelets, and pancakes. It has NO problem with stickiness; the teflon works as promised. Overall the pan is slick, light, and high quality. I feel like just because I started using this pan, I cook so much better.
Last night, for example, I was making dinner with my roommate, and we decided to experiment on some quesadillas we were making. We cut up some onions and tomatoes, put a little oil and butter in the pan, and let the onions and tomatoes fry for a bit on low heat. After a few minutes I added in some Bush's baked beans (I rinsed the flavor out lol) into the mixture in the pan, then realized I wanted one last thing: the mexican four cheese blend. I added in a generous amount of cheese and it melted very nicely into the mixture of onions, tomatoes, and now beans. Lastly, I added in some butter and salt to improve the consistency and flavor a bit, and voila! We had this cheesy blend of beans, onions, and tomatoes (my roommate added some turkey) that smelled like heaven. Our flour tortilla was on another pan frying, but when it was done, we poured this cheesy mixture on it and finished it up, with very little residue on the saute pan. Despite all that cheese and mess in the pan, nothing stuck as promised..it was very easy to clean off with water. PLUS, the quesadilla was FANTASTIC thanks to our little food experiment on this pan.
If I could, I would give it a 6/5 :).

Do not buy this if you want a good nonstick pan Dec 05, 2010
By Kathie Zettervall I needed to replace an inexpensive 8 inch pan that had worn out and bought two of these erroneously thinking they'd be good because they are Bialetti Italian. Wrong. Cooked eggs stick badly to the surface. Move on and buy something else.

Made in China - Not Italy Jun 14, 2011

The specifications for this pan on the website (as of June 14, 2011) state "Made in Italy". It is not. It is made in China. Other than that, its a nice pan, medium weight (just the weight needed - some pans are way too heavy to make an omlette), cost is low, the outside is enamel coated and the non-stick coating on the inside is better than most. To make things honest, it should be called the Bialetti Chinese collection! The pan should last about 5 years of moderate use.

Great saute pan! Dec 27, 2010
By Phoebe Lange I have mostly Calphalon Non-Stick Cookware. I originally purchased other Calphalon products not knowing exactly what I would get. But I had done some research and chose the Calphalon brand because of its good customer reviews and detailed product information. Well, I loved my first piece and have slowly been replacing all my cookware as it becomes old, too worn or because I just can't stand it anymore, with Calphalon pieces. This saute pan is no different. It cooks evenly - something that non-stick pans don't always do. It's both heavy enough and light enough to feel good in my hand,(since my hands are very arthritic, that feature is very important to me), moving it while on the stove cooking or carrying it to a plate or to the sink for clean-up. The non-stick surface is so easy to clean that I often just wash the pan by hand, but it is dishwasher safe and using the dishwasher does not ruin the non-stick surface like it does to many cheaper brands. The pan is also a perfect size for making a grilled cheese sandwich, scrambling eggs for one or two, sautéing onions or many other tasks for our household which has been pared down from seven to two as our children have all grown up and now live on their own. This pan cannot go in the oven because of the handle, but I chose that since I knew it would be unlikely that I would use a small saute pan in the oven. But Calpalon has many lines so you can select a size and specific type to meet your needs. I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.
